I click on the preset name and nothing happens for all presets past the half-way point roughly.

Anyone else seeing this?
I'm not on Windows, but yes, "VintagStrngs" is the last patch that correctly sounds, from then on, either the sound doesn't change, or changes to some default waveform. I'd report it as a bug...

(I've definitely come across some other bugs, weird noises when holding five notes in a pad just now on a particular patch, some weird tail behaviour on some pianos, some weird cyclic distortions when sustaining notes on other patches etc. It's not perfect yet, but it's still a quite impressive piece of work...)
Thanks for the confirmation. It's a small thing relative to how awesome this vst is. I just checked the House bank first because that was the only expansion I had back in the day.

This plugin is awesome. Brings nostalgia. Beat loops reminds a lot of songs.

not working on Mac, I ran the command for both component and vst3 but not recognising file

Use that free Sentinel app to get it happy with your Mac. Working on my M1 MacBook Pro and my pal's M2 Ultra Studio.

I got it to work using the latest version, and Beely's instructions. I noticed that when you first open the AU in Logic, you don't get the missing roms prompt that you get in the VST3. You need to find the correct *files* and then you must copy them to both locations (at least that's what finally worked for me). You can then quickly check if everything worked by opening the standalone. If that works, then your AU will work.

Awesome thing, I'm totally positively surprised. Easy to use. Please add more emulations from this series.

if we could one day make our own presets, it would be a dream come true. Please please!

So I'm staring at my SR-JV80-16 Orchestral II expansion board and it says "Featuring Strings, Brass and Celtic". I thought "Why so much emphasis on Celtic?", then realized they probably made this right after Titanic came out. :hihi:

More like Riverdance ( you may have to Google that). Titanic was 97, no? This came out in 92 according to Synth Explorer.

its funny how many famous producers people think were doing sound design and programming...but when you listen to D-50, M1, proteus, planet phatt, jv racks, triton, Fantom, and Motif presets;...you hear so many hit records jump out at you lol

Music had a one night stand with sound design.....And the condom broke

You are probably spot on with that analysis!

I'd say the absolute vast majority of music being made where synthesizers are used, from the 80s forward, use presets. There's zero shame in that.

The Synthmania site says it was 1999.

To clarify - you need the bins in the Containers location for the AU in Logic on Apple silicon (not sure about Intel, haven't checked). (I guess it's a sandboxing thing). You need the bins in the other regular Library location for *every other use case* - including the AU running under Intel in other hosts, the standalone version, etc.

So if you want to use, eg the AU in Logic, and the VST3 in Cubase, you'll need the bins in both locations.

I only use the AU in Logic so I only have the bins in the Containers location, and the AU works fine.

If I need to "fix" it if it gets crashy, I run the standalone - this won't work correctly to play because I haven't duplicated the bins to the other folder (for space reasons), but it doesn't matter because it still fixes the containers folders that stops the plugin crashing, and I don't need to use the standalone as is.

I wonder if the person who created this ever views the comments here on KVR? If any of us find problems with it, maybe those issues should also be reported on the site it came from.
