just downloaded it, and... it's nice. a 'smart' processor; de-essing, help with vocal tone, clicks, mouth sounds.

Yeah, I bought this last night and I’m already using it on the vocals for a song I’m finishing up. Really well done and intuitive. The click removal and tonal shaping additions are nice touches, too. Easily worth my $39 loyalty price!

This thing is driving me mad.
I know everybody’s gonna think "user error", but if it is, I simply don’t get it.
I’ve purchased it directly from iZotope, got the serial from iZotope.
Offline authorization says invalid serial. It’s written on my iZotope account. But it’s invalid.
Online authorization says my iLok user name is invalid, when I’m logged on the iLok website to check and I’ve opened the iLok manager just in case...
Btw there are two ways to register using your iLok account. One using the plugin dialog, and one through the iZotope website. Both say my user name is incorrect. I’ve tried both using only lower cases and regular combination.
And finally, when they proposed my to associate my NI account, I said yes, and they sent me an email that never reached my box. Tried several times.
After an hour I let go. Had music job to be done.
I know I still can authorize using their software manager thing, but I tried to avoid it at all costs (one software per plugin ?!?
), and most of all why do all the other method FAIL at simple things such as finding my iLok account or providing me a correct response/challenge code to the serial they gave me themselves ?!??? 
I can make a video if you want some lunatic software madness...

i abandoned ilok several years ago, had a bad experience. i use my plugins on one mac, so i just authorize for that. you could do that for now, then contact NI again to get ilok sorted.

I'm a bit surprised they're still pretending to support iLok authorisation for the newer stuff. It became unreliable some years back for me. Existing plugins work fine but I found that it simply doesn't work for some of them and the advice from support was basically to use the software manager. I don't think they said it explicitly, but the overall tenor was that the iLok route just fails randomly and there's no easy fix for it.

anyway, am finding use for velvet, and it's my new de-esser (i have a number of them); am enjoying it's unique feature set
