Thanks for the suggestion. I am trying it with disabled core parking now.dysjoint wrote: Sat May 10, 2025 8:05 pm ...I finally had luck with audio dropouts when I looked into Windows core parking (12th gen i9).

Are you referring to the core parking thing? If so, I downloaded ParkControl here:
https://bitsum.com/parkcontrol/
So far, I've only tried changing the "parking" setting to 'off'.
That software appears safe to me, but download and run it at your own risk.

I feel I hear that quite often. That new plugins don't gel too well with FL. I wonder why. FL is one of the biggest platforms on the market.Bartone wrote: Sun May 11, 2025 5:30 pm Serum2 (the demo) is crashing FL Studio quite often. Not always, but often.
I haven't had similar problem with other instruments.

People saying: the CPU usage is OK, you just need to learn how to make "efficient" sounds!
Sorry, you are wrong. Serum 2 uses massive amounts of CPU for me (at least double other similar synths). I've done tests here now with less than 20 voices playing, all FX off, a little modulation, and 1 patch with less than 20 voices goes over 100% CPU. We are talking a fairly basic, wavetable only patch. Not granular, or spectral. There IS a problem with CPU usage.
Context: as a professional sound designer, I use synths all day every day making thousands of sounds a year. I know when a synth is eating my CPU. I've been working on projects for Dune 3, Synthmater 3, Pigments, Kontakt, with no issues what so ever.
Serum 2 is amazing! I really want to design some expansive, cinematic patches for it, but doing pads and soundscapes is impossible with even moderate release times and polyphony. I did notice the NEW SERUM 2 FILTERS use a lot of CPU. I hope they address the issues soon as it's got some amazing features and I want to get busy with the granular engine.

I really hope the spectral warp modes make their way to the wavetable oscillators. I was really hoping Serum 2 would have similar spectral modifiers to Vital which are really unique and interesting. Current also has some nice spectral warp modes.

I tested the keyboard presets, and even they have some too heavy for CPU:
KY - Delicacy
KY - Dream Keys
KY - The Gengish Con
Nothing else, just one Serum2 playing one of those factory presets (2-3 notes at a time) and it is too much.

KY - Delicacy is using only Wavetavle oscilators (3 of them).
And Filter 1 is MG Low 6 snd Filer 2 High 24.
Nothing extra special there if I understand correct?
FX sextion nothing but Chorus and Convolve (so not huge selection of effects either).
What makes this so heavy to play?
Edit: if I turn the Osc C off, then there is no problem even when playing 5 notes a the same time.
Seems the Osc C is making it very CPU heavy - why?

My cpu run 19% with 16 instances, but there is like a pop
I believe it's the convolution reverb hall, replacing by the hall dsp fix the issue
I can even run 32 instances

Oscillator A is being FM'd by Oscillator B which is being PD'd by the noise
It also has a relatively long release which means the voice count goes up.
