That’s a shame. Perhaps you could resell it for list price?

Love VVV and that spreadsheet is super useful, thanks 🤩

I actually do sell it…

When was the last time you really tried it? Quite a few algos got added in recent years and some of them sound nothing like any of the previous ones, so... :?

Let's see if they add arrow buttons and mouse wheel support to change algorithm.
I feel this in Supermassive the most, since it has a ton of algorithms, all with similar names. It would be so much better to be able to cycle through them instead of having to select them from a menu each time. I can't complain too much though, it's one of the best free plugins out there.

Yeah. One of the very few nitpicks about these awesome plugins.

BTW, just today I tested a new contender and was underwhelmed. Then loading VVV and yes, there it is! Just does what I want.

You could try to mail them to show there is popular demand. I tried twice myself.

It works via automation or control surface plugged into automation. The specific, normalized values are one of the columns on the sheet! ;)
In my case I use the mouse mostly, but good to know. Thanks.

Their name is Valhalla DSP for reason, he creates his own proprietary algos and DSP. That said however, I don't know if he uses modelling, I don't believe he does.
I think my reason for starting this thread and wanting a list so I know what the different alogrithms sound like and if I want "X" sound I know what to grab.

Oh, if I want an 80's drum reverb, I go for X and not Y. Sort of thing...

I found for my self regarding these things that those descriptions might be useful for one but don't cut it for me on other occasions.
It is painful but helped me a lot: To make comparissons.
A snare, what does a plate do to it? Etc.
A collection of acoustic examples could be helpful.
Like that beautiful reverb that Mike Oldfiled had on QE2 which many years later I was told that this is a Quantec.
Ever since wanted a Quantec. You know?
And THEN it is useful to me to know which VVV algo is close to a Quantec.
Often I heard "This is the secret sauce for THAT famous sound!"
Tried it myself and it didn't work for me.
There were various reasons for that.
Bottom line: To be as specific as possible helps here.
80ies drum sound, there were quite a few options what that could have been.
80ies drum reverb was more a style of how it was often used.
OK, I stop rambling. LOL

No but this is exactly my point! There's so many algos in Vintage Verb, knowing what they're sort of modeled off of is really helpful.

Thanks for the spreadsheet, awesome resource. Maybe we can eventually build a cheat sheet with ideal use cases. I usually go with Plate reverbs, for their bright sound, and they work beautifully on snares and vocals. That keeps things lush without muddying your transients or high-frequency elements.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but on Mac I've always been able to change Valhalla plugin algorithm with keyboard arrow keys if I'm clicked into the menu.

Yeah, that works.
It would be nice if that would work without having to open the list.
Same for Color.

To make that very clear:
I am very greatful for the way ValhallaDSP is handling their updates.
Not many plugins if any at all were updated in similar ways over the course of many years with more and more good algorithms:
Room: from 4 to 12 modes in 14 years
VintageVerb: from 8 to 22 modes in 12 years
Delay: from 7 to 17 modes in 6 years
Supermassive: from 8(?) to 21 modes, and it's free!
Others have put new algorithms into new plugins generating more income. And right so!

Thank you very much, Sean!
