Quite incredible for a free update!

Good that they released this as a free update and a free new effect, considering it was starting to look like it would become an endless stream of paid add ons (although to be fair reasonably priced) this is a nice move.

Excellent update and I appreciate being able to use the individual effects in addition to BEAM 2. Really well done!

It's a great example of a developer listening to their customers. The extra LFO is really welcome and the external sidechain functionality is a great addition. Standalone effects are fantastic to have.

Haze is also a great effect to have.

Also the QoL improvements are great. Mix lock is great. Preset management is a lot better and another thing they added is the ability to control the main function of an effect node with the scroll wheel when in the overview mode. e.g. Filter cutoff for filters.

The MS functionality is brilliant. I've always maintained that routing is Beam's strong point and MS just adds a lot to it.

Great stuff.

Great stuff definitely :tu:

Hey there! Very sorry to hear about this issue. We've tested BEAM thoroughly on many difference devices but this might be a bug specific to certain configurations and we'll look into it ASAP.

Could you follow up with our support team here: https://lunacy.audio/support? If you are able to provide a video and any more details that would be super helpful for our developers :)

Hi there, will do, so I tested on a brand new session and it's not the volume slider causing problems, it's the mix knob. A super easy test was just a couple notes with a sine wave synth, into Beam's default patch (tremolo style). Mix on 0%.
Open the project back up : sounds like the effect is on despite having the mix knob on 0%.
Clicking on it seems to reset it.

Working perfectly ! Thanks for the quick fix, I have 20+ Beams with various mix settings per project for my new live, got a bit worried there
Loving the new update

Definitely the best update since Volt was introduced. :tu:

Although I'm getting an error message every time I close/open BEAM Space's UI. Not only is the impulse exactly where it's supposed to be, but it does actually load the impulse it's complaining about. Happens with any preset (i.e. not one's that use 'Elvish Plate'), but still complains about the same impulse. This is in (the latest stable) FL 2024.2.2(build 4597), Win10 Pro 64, blaH BLaH.

I don't understand the limitation that a given parameter can only be modulated by one modulation source, so if you have e.g. LFO1 modulating filter cutoff, adding LFO2 to the same parameter will substitute LFO1. That the doesn't make sense, does it?

This is a small UI quirk and we're pushing up a fix very soon. It should not affect the sound at all. Thanks for your feedback!

It's a good question! Multiple modulators on a single parameter can lead to a lot of weird audio edge cases and generally doesn't result in very useful sound design. You can absolutely modulate LFOs with other LFOs in BEAM for some fun and wacky variability, but we made the design choice to only allow one modulation assignment per control to keep the UI tidy. We don't think you're missing much with this limitation :)
