If you buy Serum 2, you also get a Serum 1 licence added to your Xfer account. After you install Serum 1, the S1 presets appear in S2 8)
Really, I can get the Serum1 and use it if Serum2 is too much?
If/when I buy Serum2, where can I download Serum1?

Xfer?

Xfer Records. The company that makes Serum.

Many people asked for it (an extra Serum 1 licence if they buy Serum 2)

The wish was granted.

Any cpu issues?
Just use the demo if you are eager to find out? The only way to know if your specific configuration will run into issues.
I already bought it awhile ago. I was asking the person who said they had no issues to try something.
ah, ok nvm then
No worries. I should've added a little more info in my post - rereading it I saw where you were coming from (a lot of people ask questions without even trying a demo).

... I could cut the release time by a lot if I added a long reverb...
Yeah shortening the release seems to help alot w/ cpu. On some patches it's a bit long for my tastes anyway, that's maybe the single best thing to do for presets with longer releases.

Are there already some good preset packs for Serum2 out there?
Especially something different from basic EDM stuff (Lo-Fi, Pianos, Cinematic -> something like that)?

Post

Not that I've found. But I am eagerly waiting also...

Any recommendations for Serum 2 preset packs designed to be played expressively using MPE with parameters already mapped?

Wonder if Expressive E will come out with something soon...

Well now that I think, why not Serum1 banks also.

But yes, would be interesting to see/hear what Serum2 can do in comparison to Serum1.

You can do your own. The knobs are not greyed out.

These are beautiful sounds (but I don't see anything why you would need Serum2 for these if I didn't miss something that's not in Serum1).

Serum 2 is absolutelly amazing for pads and atmospheric stuff, made few nice ,demoing it and love these filters.
Sound is way more organic and deep, compared to v.1
Cpu overload is the issue ...
Plan to assemble more powerful pc this year.
Did anybody test it with 8 cores vs 16 cores,is there any significant difference?
Cheers :)

Others can come in and correct me if I'm wrong, but in my brief time with the demo, the issue seems to be that it's going to max out a single core pretty easily with some patches. And there's no multi-core option like some U-he synths. Throwing more cores at the problem alone won't solve it because the core Serum will be running on may still be spiking. If you're trying to eek out more Serum 2 instances, you'd want something with high-speed single-core performance first and foremost.
