Hi!

I'm projecting a recording room, but I have a few doubts... The land I have available is 5,5metres by 5,5metres (I could enlarge it a bit more if needed). I would like to do 2 rec rooms in this space, but don't know if it will really work. These rooms would be, one with 3,5m by 5,5m and the other with 2m by 5,5m (they would be slightly shorter because of the walls). another problem I have is the construction material... wich would be best for walls floor and ceiling ?!?

can anyone help me on this ?!

Thanks

That would certainly work, but wouldnt 2meters(~6 feet) be kind of cramped? Is that going to be the "control room" portion? The other section will be fine for recording as long as sound deadening is used. The best material for the outside walls is concrete with a brick exterior if you want to keep the sound in your room. Inside, I would put some kind of acoustical tile or sheetrock if its available- it would also be good to take some measurements to find where the "live spots" in your room are so you can deaden them.

That's what I thought. This room would be intended to record acoustic basses, and probably vocals. I think it would definitly need some acoustic treatment. The control room is allready built, it was kind of a small warehouse (5metres x 3metres and height 2.30m).

I'm thinking of applying some Auralex's acoustic panels.

Thanks for the reply!
