if you're a Mac user who's either bought (or downloaded the NFR version) of Tracktion, there's some good news. Mackie has released a public beta of an OS X version of their Final Mix mastering suite (previously only available to users of the Windows version) for immediate download to all registered Tracktion users:

"Mackie is pleased to bring you the highly anticipated release of the Final Mix CD Mastering Plug-in for Mac-based Tracktion users.

As a thank you to our loyal Tracktion users, we are releasing a public beta for you to use, abuse, and no doubt enjoy as we put the finishing touches on the final release version, due out within a few weeks. As stated before, Final Mix will be made available to all Tracktion users free of charge. PC Tracktion users have already been polishing their creations with this powerful mastering plug-in, and now Mac based users can do the same.

To check out Final Mix for the Mac, simply log into your http://my.mackie.com account and the mac version of Final Mix will be available for download as a .zip archive. Installation instructions are included in the .zip file.

We hope you enjoy this great addition to an even greater music making application.

Sincerely,
Your Friends at Mackie

NOTE: As this is a public beta release, we would appreciate any feedback you can provide in the event you discover any bugs we may have missed. To report issues got to:
