Well....I did have the same issue but that's because I'm an idiot and deleted the VST2 plugins. But I undeleted the VST2 plugins and it seems to work fine now.

mmm. But the vst2 plugins are all installed and there on my system, and I can use them starting from scratch. As soon as I recall an old session, it's like if they were not existing - or better said, Live doesn't recognize them and doesn't make the link with the Black Rooster plugins...dastewart wrote: Wed May 21, 2025 8:09 am Well....I did have the same issue but that's because I'm an idiot and deleted the VST2 plugins. Maybe I should re-install everything... I'm amazed I am the only one.

I’m waiting for an answer from the support…
I re-installed and it’s not better…
If it’s Live related only, it means it’s not hopeless : I was afraid they updated vst2 with a new plugin ID. In this case, I don’t see how it can be fixed easily…

There is - they come with their own dedicated installers. (There's one for the bundle and one for each individual Plugin.)dastewart wrote: Thu May 22, 2025 9:04 am Not sure there is a version 3 of the version vst2 plugins. My Vst2 are v2.6.1 and vs3 are v3.0.0

ok, so it may explain many things !
How many of you did uninstall everything, and then installed only the vst3 version (like me) ?
If you only installed the vst3, then you kept the previoux 2.x.x vst2 version, so it's normal that everything is fine.
I suspect Black Rooster did some mistake by changing the ID of their vst2 plugins.

In Reaper, of all the BR-plugins I own (~20) only the Halloween Edition Neve-emu shows the problem you are encountering.

Wait, what? Are you saying you didn't actually install the VST 2.x plugins of V3?

Sorry, language error. Of course I did install the vst2 plugins. But I installed the version 3 of them.
I think I will need to uninstall them, and then re-install the v2 of the vst2

Ok. I just uninstalled everything using the Black Rooster uninstaller. Re-installed my whole vst2 and vst3 collection in V3 = same issue. Uninstalled again everything. Re-installed first the vst2 in V2, then the vst3 in V3 : it works fine.
I'm pretty sure the new V3 of the vst2 has not the same plugin ID, so updating the vst2 from V2 to V3 is breaking everything and it's impossible to recall any old session.
I'm just amazed I am the only one having these issues, like if everybody just installed the vst3 V3 and didn't touch their previous vst2 install...

That's what I did. Well, like I said, I stupidly deleted the vst2 plugins when I installed the vst3 v3 but when I realised none of my old sessions were loading properly I just undeleted them.Calagan wrote: Thu May 22, 2025 5:18 pmI'm just amazed I am the only one having these issues, like if everybody just installed the vst3 V3 and didn't touch their previous vst2 install...
So effectively I left them untouched. Why bother updating the VST2?

What's breaking old projects for me on Windows is BRA installing the V3 plugin files into the Steinberg folder path even though the V2 plugins were somewhere else. Also, one of the plugin filenames seems to be different.Calagan wrote: Thu May 22, 2025 5:18 pm I'm pretty sure the new V3 of the vst2 has not the same plugin ID, so updating the vst2 from V2 to V3 is breaking everything and it's impossible to recall any old session.
I moved the files around manually and it kinda solved my problem but any future updates will just do it all again.
I'm getting way too old and cranky for this. For now I'm just uninstalling them all and focusing on things that aren't so annoying.
Surely there must be consensus by now...
