There is no "PA" or an "LTL" version, all versions and download links are hosted on the PA servers... just sayin'

The beta version requires you to get it from LTL's own website though (through their shop system), and it seems to be different system than what PA is using, so I'm assuming the files are also stored in different server?

Speaking of which, has anyone been able to confirm if the new beta version has a built-in DC filter now?

Here you can download my Reaper presets for the LTL Silver Bullet mk2 VST3 plugin. These are the "built in" presets for each plugin within Reaper.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Some of the presets use the "secret pink EQ" mode and that mode causes massive DC offset. Make sure you have a DC block filter (any High Pass Filter set between 10 to 20Hz will do!) placed and turned on (!!!) after the Silver Bullet mk2 plugin before trying these! Real damage can be done to speakers/headphones if you are using them at loud levels!


Note: You need to copy this .ini file to the Reaper resources 'preset' folder. Make sure you backup your own .ini file before you overwrite it with this one. Alternatively if you want to combine the two just open up the .ini file in a text editor and copy/paste the presets from one to the other. Just follow the rather logically laid out system of the .ini file.

These presets are for the most part just starting points, meaning that all the various EQ settings are for the most part set flat. I use these presets and the preset names as a general purpose cheat sheet for quickly selecting a serial number that does what it says.. meaning some have words like "punchy" and some have "laid back" etc. Basically they describe what happens to transients, the stereo field and the overall feel I got from the SRN chosen.

People who are not using Reaper may still find the file interesting to browse with a text editor as I've clearly labelled the serial number being used and given it a text description. Note that some presets are not just flat presets but need to be driven hard into for it to actually saturate.. but for the most part, like 90% are just flat plugin settings with not much saturation happening.

Another important realization is that the plugin's 'headroom' knob simply does not sound the same as running audio hard into the plugin and then compensating on the output. Why? I have no idea.. my guess is that the headroom control is actually deeper inside the plugin than the final output stage. Thus when you drive hard into the plugin you are causing additional harmonics to happen somewhere. At least this is my gut reaction.. though I have not verified this as the headroom control (and all other knobs in the plugin, unfortunately) is rather coarsely tuned thus making exact A/B comparisons and null tests difficult. It also lacks the range to truly test the limits. I wish we had a true "fine tune" mode for each control. However, you can sort of verify this by simply comparing -10dBFS on headroom vs +10dBFS and then comparing both of these extremes to setting headroom to +10 (where I highly recommend keeping it at all times!) and then instead running +20dBFS signal into the plugin (which should correlate with -10dB headroom knob but it doesn't!).

I was curious about your claim that the headroom knob is different than just using some trim plugin before and after.
Actually, if you use the exact same settings (including the tone section and even the vintage and aspect ratio buttons), an instance of SB with headroom at +10 nulls perfectly with another instance with -10db before and +10db after the plugin.
I guess your error was in thinking (for some strange reason) that +10 headroom means +/-20db trim. Maybe I didn't understand your point, but please test it for yourself : headroom knob is actually the same as using a trim plugin before and after...
