Workflow question

First of all: Thank you so much for RapidComposer! It really helped making composing music more accessible to me! :)

Topic: I really, really, really like the Idea Tool! It's so good for rapidly experimenting with different ideas!

I would like to try the following workflow:
Step 1: In the "Song View", sketch out the entire track: Intro, Verses, Chorus, etc.
Step 2: Assign (or generate) chords for each part that was sketched out in Step 1.
Step 3: I already created a template with many, many tracks, for each of which I have configured the Idea Tool. Now I want the Idea Tool to fill in my composition.

I feel like this should be possible, but for the life of me I can't find a way to do this.
When I use the mode "Replace Composition", the Idea Tool replaces all the parts / song structure I created. "Replace Selection" and "Add New Part" are also not really helpful here.

Help me please: What am I doing wrong? Any advice for this kind of workflow is appreciated.

Hello CodingWitcher,

welcome to this forum! :)

Yes, this should be possible, it is very logical. RapidComposer should support all kinds of workflows.
Today I added a "Replace Current Part" option, so I'll gladly send you a beta version, if you tell me whether you need the Windows or macOS version.

The "Current Part" can be selected by double-clicking on a Part either in the structure inspector or in the top structure bar (e.g. Composition > Part 2"). If you double-click on a part only that part will be displayed. You'll need to exclude master track chord generation if the chords were already set up.

Thanks!
Attila

Wow, not only a quick reply, but... you also implemented a change like that this quickly?! :O I may call myself "CodingWitcher", but maybe YOU are the Witcher here! :D

I would love to try this! I need the Windows version.
If you need my email address: [th]esven[scho]ene]@g[ma]il.com (replace all "[" and "]" with nothing).

Thank you so much, I'm excited!

Yes, I'll shortly prepare the next beta version.
I already implemented a few things.
