I have S1V6 artist . I did NOT bite on version7 either . I do believe version 7 will get some love though , eventually . I'm very surprised by the NO memorial day Sale this weekend ? As well ...

And if I remember correctly, there is no more “artist” version on V7? Which is a bit strange…fedexnman wrote: Sun May 25, 2025 4:26 pm I have S1V6 artist . I did NOT bite on version7 either . You need to buy the whole thing if you want S1 v7, even if you don’t need all those extra.

Finally had some success, read at thegearpage.net that it worked in linux Mint-Cinnamon version, by using the login option to use cinnamon-wayland-experimental option. So installed that on a spare drive, and it's true, the gui appears, I was able to choose i/o devices, but it took multiple attempts, it seems like there are gear detection flaws. I was able to record, and able to test the backing tracks, but once a backing is selected, it plays back garbled at around 20% speed, for no reason, and without any obvious speed control
It's also displaying a dozen l-r-c i/o options for my old mAudio pci card, and so far I can't hear what I'm playing or have recorded after setting an amp and effects...even though the backing track previews play fine without attention.
So much for beta/alpha testing...thud. To be fair, this Mint distro uses pipewire and alsa by default,
and Fender Studio is not working with jackd at all. I've been using jackd/qjackctl with Reaper for 10 years without problems. Off to trample about on the learning curve...

I switched to the much simpler IK usb Stealthplug mono guitar interface, plugged in before powering up linux Mint, and chose the Cinnamon Experimental Wayland login option...and all the confusing mAudio bits were gone from Fender's Audio Setup panel, and it was easy to use qjackctl for i/o connections, as the Fender ports were apparent. I was able to record with a backing track, and send audio to linux effects and a recorder. The screenshot shows the connections. Yours will vary according to the gear you use.

Thanks for posting - and now with less jaded eyes this time round, I picked up on a little detail from the Presonus announcement clips included there...
I learned it was actually Joe who said, "..More feature releases will come next year (they were speaking in 2024), with 3 to 4 releases per year after that (so from 2026)." Importantly he specifically restrained from saying '3 to 4 releases next year'... Meaning, even though they showed 2025 in their little graphic timeline helper thing, they may get a couple of 'feature' releases out this year, but (probably) no promises.! The big take-away folks, is definitely look forward to 2026 cos that's when it's all really happening.!
Also interesting, there will be no more Prime or Artist versions - because surprise, Presonus listened to their customers.!
Yes, Gregor said it, whilst speaking straight to the camera, "...that these changes are the direct result of your feedback and we will continue to listen.." So it's all us existing S1 owners/fans fault, who were begging/telling/ordering Presonus over and over, to ditch Prime and Artist and get full Splice integration on board as fast as possible etc.. Because those are our biggest needs; otherwise (just to add a bit of jeopardy/consequence into the matter if they don't listen to us), we're probably never buying another Studio One...
So there.
(However, and for the record, wasn't me writing to Fender - so must have been the rest of you lot).

Well, ok better for you maybe - but adding that alone wouldn't provide a solution for the potentially vast market of iOS and Android devices out there...Dogbert wrote: Mon Jun 16, 2025 3:53 am They could have just added a basic but useful version of Ampire to Studio One Prime and it would have been a much better free alternative than Fender Studio.

Studio One wasn't for me. It started when they wouldn't allow 3rd Party vsts on the demo and cheaper models. I don't want another daw in my life and to be serious. Those that are stuck in simple hardware vs software will never make the jump if they haven't by now.
Zoom R20 is killing the daw market for those anti computer/daw types with the R20.
I do like well done Fender amp and fender amp sims. If I had my druthers and plenty of walk around money I'd consider a Fender Tone Master Pro as I think they do the modeling justice. Both druthers and walk around money are on the short end of the supply chain so I'm happy to make do with my Line 6 Pod Go.
Someone at Fender Corporate should have learned from Gibson about entering the daw market. Every one who was using Cakewalk walked away before the purchase by Gibson and with out clear marketing it failed. Yes Sonar did become better after Gibson for a time but then the Chapter 11 made Gibson drop Cakewalk. And after all the faults prior to the Gibson acquisition no one was getting suckered into buying Cakewalk who had it previously nor first timers. I won't even get into TEAC/Tascam.
And... I like Fender. I love the guitars the amps I've had Gibsons. Les Paul reissue, Les Paul Custom ('70's) 335 and yet my most cherished guitar of all was an American Made Strat Plus from the 90's as well the two guitars that always seem to find their ways into my hands are my Fender Telecaster. I dream of my next Stratocaster.
All that being said I think it's a dumb move on Fender's behalf.
