reel ADT is the one waves plugin i use a lot. can anyone suggest a (non-ilok!) alternative?

would like to move out of the waves ecosystem.

The ADT setting in Proximity is my favorite adt. Be warned trying to install on new Macs. Its a pita getting it authorized.

Never could get a sound I cared for with Reel. Always was too phasey or comb filtered for my tastes.

There are lots of doubler plugins, but are you saying it has to be replicating the same setup that ADT does? It isn’t very realistic as a doubler but it does have a specific sound. I am not aware of a similar plugin but I have ADT I could probably do something similar thing with the modulators in cubase and a tape (delay) plugin where speed is modulated across 2 instances.

am just looking for a quick ADT plugin, not so much a 'reel ADT' dupe; and i've done this in logic with other methods. anyway, some googling found a few things...

I would like to find one also. I don't have any plugins currently that do a nice Beatle-esque ADT sound. I don't care about whether it's iLok or not but I wouldn't want to pay much for such a niche effect.

been doing comparisons:
ozone imager2 (eh). meldaproductions mdouble tracker (not bad) but reel ADT sounds cleaner overall. still looking!

EDIT: i run reel ADT with very simple settings (ie no lfo, very-slight drive on one side), and it's pretty great. the melda is good too, but actual 'phasier'. so will stick with reel ADT(unless something better comes along).

Yes, but for some reason I was never able to get it to sound right.

UAD Studer does? How I'm not aware of that.
The UAD-2 version of Ampex does it, but the UADx version is cut down and lacks the tape delay section.

So the UAD-2 version that does it isn't iLok, because the UAD-2 device is the dongle.
Only UADx is iLok (but supports Machine Authorization now.)
