Putting an image on a wave file and it filtering the spectrogram according to that image? It seems like possible, but I can't find out how with the demo of Photosounder.

You lost me at "it filtering the spectrogram according to that image", I'm not sure what you mean by that.

He probably means something like an Image Filter in other similar products that I don't want to mention here: vocoding a sonogram by using an image on another layer as a filter in order to make only the common pixels pass through such filter (like what you describe in this video, but possibly in a more free way – the second image shall not necessarily be a simple carrier, after all):

Oh yes I see that makes more sense. So the technique is to load the sound to modify, then import the image and set the horizontal method to either "fit" or "crop":

then set the layer blending mode for the image to Multiply, maybe adjust the Gamma and of course set the lossless mode on.
