Wondering if Samplitude Pro X9 Suite when released will include SpectraLayers Pro 12.
Currently states SpectraLayers Pro 11.
But then the sale ends June 15 ,2025.
Rumor has it that the Samplitude x9 will be releases well after June 15th.

Was SpectraLayers 12 announced or released? I'm not sure if i get the reasoning behind this post.

Perhaps it was announced (I can't speak to that) but it's not released yet.SeeingInMidi wrote: Mon Jun 02, 2025 9:50 pm Was SpectraLayers 12 announced or released? I'm not sure if i get the reasoning behind this post.
But you're right: someone may be confused. Samplitude is Magix, SpectraLayers is Steinberg.
Was a version of SpectraLayers included with Samplitude at some point? I think it may have been offered with Sound Forge (and, therefore, maybe Samplitude as well) a few years ago, but I think that was before Steinberg acquired it from Magix.

Steinberg is only the distributor, AFAIK.

No question there.
The only possible way for this to happen would be through some sort of packaging arrangement that Magix would have to set-up with Steinberg unless there is a contractual agreement perhaps based on Magix having previously owned the software. This is total speculation on my part, however, and offered on a "FWIW" basis.

Spectra Layers 11 is included with the current Samplitude Suite...
*I have SpectraLayers Pro 4 I guess, it's still available to download, tho I have little interest in it.
It came with SX3 Suite, the last version I owned.
So, Magix has some kind of limited deal with Steinberg I guess.

I definitely want to update from V11 and get SpectraLayers Pro 12 when released but if for a bit more $ during a Samplitude Pro x9 sale I would prefer that if the SpectraLayers Pro 12 is included.

You may have a point: I just checked and the last four versions of SpectraLayers have been released in June of the last four years. So, maybe that announcement of a release was spot-on.Kalamata Kid wrote: Tue Jun 03, 2025 2:57 amI small edit to the above post, hope it helps.Kalamata Kid wrote: Mon Jun 02, 2025 7:30 pm Wondering if Samplitude Pro X9 Suite when released will include SpectraLayers Pro 12.

I am a big fun of Spectralayers since version 8 was released. Really high quality product. So, waiting the new version for sure.

I've owned SpectraLayers (and later "Pro") since it was released, and the software was acquired by Steinberg in 2019, and (as an aside) they have released more 'updates' than anyone else. Magix obviously have a distribution agreement with Steinberg. Looking forward to v.12dlandis wrote: Mon Jun 02, 2025 10:46 pmNo question there.

FWIW: The upgrade from SpectraLayers Pro 11 to 12 should be (the usual) $79.00, unless they do a 'grace-period' freebie-upgrade thing when it is purchased within a certain number of months prior to the release of the new version.Kalamata Kid wrote: Tue Jun 03, 2025 2:57 amI small edit to the above post, hope it helps.Kalamata Kid wrote: Mon Jun 02, 2025 7:30 pm Wondering if Samplitude Pro X9 Suite when released will include SpectraLayers Pro 12.

I don't know if they treat a registered version which was included with other software exactly the same as when/if it is purchased directly or independently. I suspect so, as it has the potential to generate upgrade income, but am not certain of it.

IIRC I got my first Spectralayers thru a Samplitude Pro Suite purchased during a sale.
Since then I updated to the next version without any issue.
