"Analog" coloration?

Hi everyone. Could you please recommend plugins that add a vintage-style coloration just by inserting them? I remember trying and hearing it, for example, with the Michelangelo EQ. What I want is to take away that modern sound from synthesizers. Any type of plugin, saturator, EQ, compressor, etc. (looking for direct emulations of machines; I don't know if Mich. is one; rather than plugins that mimic the worn-out sound like RC). Thank you, alot.

Possibility Silver Bullet from Louder than liftoff? I think there are some presets geared to synths. The plugin was $30 via Plugin Alliance website as of Friday.

Yes, Silver Bullett can do it. And of course all the Neold plugins from PA, for example Wunderlich. Both Silver Bullett and Wunderlich have a simple EQ and a compressor and can be used as tone shaping channel strips.

I don't have Teletone's audio "Tone architect", because it's expensive, but it looks great, as does Michelangelo.

Buy from Louder Than Liftoff site, so they get 100% of the money... but yeah, Silver Bullet MK2 is the top analog coloration for me atm. Nothing does the same thing as good and "analogey".
Soft Knees - Live 12, Diva, Omnisphere, Slate Digital VSX, TDR, Kush Audio, U-He, PA, Valhalla, Fuse, Pulsar AUDIO, NI, OekSound etc. on Win11Pro R7950X & RME AiO Pro

There are a lot of good free options out there. If you are on windows, try variety of sound plugins. Some of them are on par with or sometimes even better than paid plugins. Analog obsession also has some cool stuff and of course there's airwindows consolidated with a huge variety of coloring options. Imo there is nothing else ITB that can deharsh a fizzy digital sound in the way 'Air4' or 'Mastering' does it.

If you're eager to buy something, then silver bullet indeed is a good choice.

You might wanna give our 808Screamer a shotβ€”it’s a free distortion plugin. Try this settings combo and see how it hits:
**In = -30, Out = 30, Overdrive = 0, Tone = 5, Level = 3.**

Another vote for Variety of Sound. ThrillseekerXTC is remarkable for a free plugin, as are most of the others. Klanghelm are also worth checking out especially MJUC.

Flux mode on the Silver Bullet can be great on lots of things (including synths). It adds random behaviour to the circuit model and can be modulated in time with track. The stranger modulation options (programmed by Unfiltered Audio) like the SP-esque bit cruncher and the VHS tape mode can also be just the ticket. It can be hard to gain stage but it's a really great plug in. If I were to only have one this would be a contender..

There are tons of saturators, but to be honest the best one is from developer+producer/musician combo.
1) DST - amazing work horse. It's a kind of old good Quadrafuzz but without destroying the sound.
2) GHZ Tupe - all their plugs are GOLD but this one is special. Tube+Tape. Very useful not only for tape emulation.
3) BeatQuake - if you want to make something big and hot.
4) FabFilter Saturn - VERY flexible! Linear mode and oversampliing make it very invisible if you need it to.
5) FabFilter Pro-Q 4 - it's saturation is amazing. it can tame peaks a little bit or it can add grittiness. Good presets are here: www.andivax.com
6) If you are in cinematic/trailer music you will love Fury, Topos and Thermal
7) Cybrdrive - the best demonizer/distorter. And very cheap
8)Spectre - the best exciter with many algos
9) Sugar - master bus will thank you. Parallel compression + saturation
10) Spicerack - "Star of the show" vocals preset. Thank me later )

For analogue tone and transient distortion, I'd recommend a good tape emu, like u-he satin and other top tier tape emus. For harmonic distortion and stereo image analogization, I'd recommend something like klanghabitat cassiopeia or the Acustic preamps. Satin and Cassiopeia are a good combo.

Run all your busses into Kazrog True Iron or if you have a powerful computer, on each track. Stand back at the end in awe of how much thicker it all adds up to. The preamp and preamp emulations for me make a huge difference in the sound we hear on a track.

That and a good tape plugin, for me will do it.
