Got my board built and it’s not looking too bad.
One thing I got really wrong - I added all the pedal velcro in one go thinking it would be same as the velcro that came on my Polymoon when I bought it used. No, it’s about five times stronger and I nearly got a hernia trying to move the volume pedal location!
Oh and the EM600 is almost impossible to stick velcro to because of its rubbery base so I’m relying more on the leads keeping it there.
Also, if I had spare Z inputs on my interface I’d have gone stereo outs, but will cross that bridge later.

Found a better idea on Reddit: turn the bottom plate upside down.

I want (noiseless) single coils in my HH Telecaster. Due to the placement of the neck pup I'm not going to be able to rig an sd triple shot ring
Any suggestions?

#1 Lindy Fralin Twangmaster is basically a G&L Z-Coil under a humbucker cover.
#2 Dimarzio Bluesbucker is basically a single coil pickup with a dummy coil. When used together, it sounds like a P-90, and when split, it's a legit single coil.
#3 Dimarzio Humbucker from Hell is a humbucker voiced to sound like a single coil.
#4 EMG 89 is actually has a full humbucker and a separate full single coil under the cover.
#5 Dimarzio Fantom P-90 Humbucker and Seymour Duncan Silencer P-90 humbucker both use 3 coils to cancel the hum.

The Dimarzio Bluesbucker is the clear winner for me. Thanks for taking the time and sharing all of those.

Ibanez made a pickup that would be good for that. It split to a stacked coil. The SV-5470 had it.
Also, there are some quad coil pickups on Amazon and eBay that are single coil-sized humbuckers when split. The one I got allowed me rewire the coils individually, so I made one of them series and the other parallel. It’s killer.

You guys have so much more to select from than us, at least unless we are willing to pay at least double the price to import. There's no problem finding a single coil which works for me. I need a humbucker-sized pickup though, which can split, it's for an Ibanez wich has two humbuckers and no pickguard. EMG has some dual mode pickups, they are active as far as I can tell though, and the guitar doesn't have room for any batteries of any kind

This would be the 2nd gen of the inexpensive wireless "wire" I've tested and it's working great.
Anyone else using one . . . ?

Both of these allow you to split like a normal humbucker and are hum cancelling when split. The split sound will be smoother and higher output than a normal single coil, which should work well for high gain. I paid a little more for mine because I wanted access to the individual coils, but that required doing surgery to pickup that I'm guessing most people aren't interested in.

I am a big Paul Gilbert fan and just because this thing is so totally over the top ugly I want his Ibanez PGMM11 mini signature guitar.

Are cheramic or AlNiCo though? I really want an AlNiCo V pickup which can split into a single coil, I have it on some of my HSS guitars, and I really like the soundUncle E wrote: Fri Jun 06, 2025 5:34 pm https://www.ebay.com/itm/256790121977
