Great song! The arrangement is excellent especially the strings. The mix is nice and clear.

The pitch correction is very noticeable almost like a deliberate effect on the lower notes. Maybe switch to Melodyne if you are not using it already?

Usually the word "magic" has a positive connotation is pop music. I would have used "sadness" or "sorrow" which I think fits the mood better.

Nice job overall. :tu:

Haha yes, the word "magic" was chosen deliberately,
because the situation isn't meant to be just a farewell or
the end of the relationship, but rather a kind of discussion
— with a magical moment. It's meant to remain a bit
ambiguous ...

A moment that isn't necessarily sad, but one that stays in
your memory because it's so special. Well, everyone has
their own interpretation, their own images of it, of course
... :D

The intro is a nice touch.

There seems to be a lot of pitch correction which sounds quite synthetic. Same is true for some of the instruments. I think forgoing pitch correction completely would be worth a try. And I'm not sure if the instruments are MIDI / VSTis but they could sound more realistic imo. Maybe try incorporating just a few real instruments.

enroe,
Thank you for the review! Now your song: At first, I see the video play.....and there was no sound...wondered if something was wrong.....and then the song started. Your style is recognizable with the distinctive vocals. I am guessing some drastic pitch shifting is happening at times on the vocals; interesting how the low pitch vocal "turns into" something cello-like. It would appear the video has a Halloween sort of theme, with occasional orgy-like artsy stuff taking place. Instrumentally, everything sounds good. Nice melodies all around. It's good your vocals had a sort of crescendo high pitch at least once. I tried to hear the song a second time; the video played but no sound ever arrived. Anyway, cool song! You're originally from Germany? I never detect a German accent in the vocals.

I enjoyed this. It had a "full" sound even though the instrumentation was not particularly dense. I really liked the combination of the slow guitar and string lines, which gave the song a relaxed, but serious atmosphere.

Good work :)

Yes — we're working on improving both the performance, the
instrumentation, and the recordings, perhaps preserving more
of the original audio files. :D

Yeah, the video and audio are separate. For the audio part,
i.e., the song, you have to press the "Play" button separately.

Thank you for your detailed statement – we will keep all your
points in mind! :D

Oh, thanks seismic1! Yes – slow yet full, warm, and musical
is difficult to achieve. At least, we think so. Thanks! :)

I've heard it with the video. Although far from my electronic stuff, I can recognise a good, talented instrumentist :) Super pleasing to ear, your song. Great work with the guitar and vocals. Did I heard some occasional tricks with the voice, such as a doubled voice ? Very cool and discreet. Great job and nice vocal timbre, too.

Hello dbo, thank you for your kind words!

And yes, exactly: the vocals are doubled for certain syllables
and spread out in the stereo width.
