I am looking for a good FX Filter with good resonance and cutoff similar to the filter in Vanguard, for use in Trance music.

Vanguards Filter is so good! I believe it has a keytrk, veltrk, resonance and cutoff? Anyway, the effects filter that comes with FL Studio, that I use, is not nearly as wide and clean.

I would like a Filter FX this good to use with some of my other vsti's such as v station.

Any help appreciated. :help:

Personally I like the 2 filters that come with Cubase. Tonic and the other one (can't remember what it's called). I'm going to demo PSP Nitro some time soon, but I find the Cubase filters pretty flexible and powerful - envelope follow, LFO mod, step-sequencer mod, keytracking etc.

If you're not using Cubase though, I don't think they're available as separate buys :?

Zapfilter2 is a very good yet reasonable filter unit.

if you could discribe what type of filter, i could code one for
you in a day. default interface, but maybe i'd consider giving
you the source incase you wanted to get someone else to GUI it.

if you have no clue, you could send a pure saw wave (like xhip)
and pure white noise (like xhip) through the filter with
static settings, not sweeps. that is 12.5%, 25%, 50% 100%
for cutoff and resonance. (both saw and noise)

if it is some lame serial biquad, hm, you could ask someone else.
but i'll do a multimode for you for sure.

(actually or i could implement it as part of xhip effects, which
i need to do anyway)

aciddose,

I think I've figured out how to use the Free Filter with FL Studio to my liking after all. I somehow overlooked the resonance control knob and the low pass setting! Sounds much better now!

Thanks for the offer.
