There were other LFO modules designed but not implemented (sigh), Switcher LFO was supposed to be a very simple affair where the user was not supposed to care or think about the phases.

I don't understand it tbh. If I read it correctly in the manual the lfo will go through the full cycle when you attempt to switch between two shapes. Both of of them having the same starting/zerocrossing spot would make the switch smoother which makes sense. But if we could just move the zerocrossing spot around for all shapes at the same time wouldn't that basically be a phase control and still have the same smoothing effect?

One thing is for sure, this thread (and hopefully NI forums) will get buy again with 100 or maybe 1000's of new users asking the same questions and seeing the same frustrations many of us original purchasers felt! If there is a V2 that addresses the issues and improves X then its probably clever marketing (if you get it free you probably won't mind a 80USD update to V2...)
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

If MX-2 is the next move, it explains why there was not much moving forward with the current version.

I think MX is in the running for most complex looking, but least capable LFO of all time.

There isn't much left in their catalogue that they can update to make money...

If it really happens, I hope it will have the same sound as MX, but with the wonderful features like the function generators and random modules of Pigments and a proper sequencer or arp

Edit: Oh, never mind. just saw the thread. lol
INCREDIBLE Deal. I really wonder why NI is being so generous.

Sound has never been MX‘s problem, it’s (almost) everything else. NI has DSP down to a t, I just can’t see them messing that up. However, should they manage to do that, it would be very very funny.

It has been mentioned on NI community by their senior staff that "synths" is one of the main focus areas for 2025 and improvements to Massive X are planned. Half the year is going by, but I think Massive X V2 is a possibility.

They probably started updating it and then someone in marketing said 'hey, a a bit more, we can call it a paid update!'

It's not like they didn't try that one before with Guitar Rig and everyone soaked that one up.

If they're giving it away, the Summer of Sound sale must be going horribly bad.

The economy is now what is used to, and I don't know if it will ever be.

I am SO angry at how they've never finished Massive X that a part of me wants to see them go down. What a major f*ck up.

That's a good point. It clearly looks like people aren't into Komplete as they used to be. Summer of Sound sale has lost its charm in my opinion.
