Izotope had the Exponential Audio reverbs, and progressed this with their Neoverb plug in.
NI have some fairly decent reverb tech too with Raum and replica. Btw Raum seems to be given away in the Komplete Start Free download.
It's seems to me that bx may have the most active dev team, when people complain that NI are not doing dev work. So it wouldn't surprise me if we see more of this type of thing, which appears to be some of the NI and Izotope technology wrapped into the bx plug in framework.
And for the plug in itself... It really sounds pretty good to me. Has some of the Raum type sound, good for large spaces, but also has its own kinda sound too along older trance type reverbs..
edit: have to say the added controls for filters, drive, duck, gate and freeze also look very useful and fun...!

Their new AURA reverb is "in house" development and it is actually very good!
Unfortunatelly new iZotope plugins are NOT connected with Exponential Audio algos (like R4 or old PCM 92/96/Native bundle) and me personally not in love with it's sound but usability is great!
NI Raum is one of the best "huge cinematic reverbs" on the market and it can do a lot more!
Personally I love Sonsig Rev-A (LX480 Random Hall on steroids) and FabFilter Pro-R 2 for that cinematic reverbs.
Got some Pro-R2, Sonsig, LX480 and VintageVerb presets tailored for specific genres.
You can simply Google "andivax presets".
In the end of the day ValhallaDSP VintageVerb is the best choice if you need "The One" verb.
It's cheap, it's easy on CPU and it can be 90% close to that classical hardware machines but with proper presets programming.
