I definitely like using the nodes to shape the effect. It's one of the reasons why I think the final version will be something pretty cool. There's the ability for quick and dirty reverbs on a drum mix, or full-on, detailed soundscapes. Sonic Academy have put their unique node-based system into a reverb, and it's a great tool, even in it's beta form right now.pekbro wrote: Tue Apr 15, 2025 4:21 pm Pretty fond of the new Vela from Sonic Academy, I think it’s shaping up to be a

Hmmm.....
Pondering......
Best Reverb for 2026?
I believe it will be the ConvoIRNuralnetbrainextrationofwhatI'mthinking reverb. Most likely will have to be a vst5
Just a wild guess though

I have a really fast computer, some good mics, vintage musical instruments, and lots of fancy software. Just need some talent

I had a nasty crash with that in Reaper/Windows 10 after like 2 minutes with it and gave up pretty quickly. It didn't quite wow me in those 2 minutes, but it sounded pretty good.pekbro wrote: Tue Apr 15, 2025 4:21 pm Pretty fond of the new Vela from Sonic Academy, I think it’s shaping up to be a

In new-old reverb news, I've been spending a lot of time with Equinox, which is Stratus/Symphony/R4/Nimbus combined into a single plugin. I'm avoiding presets almost entirely, as there are just too many, but these are still killer sounding algorithms. It's such a damn shame though that they only offer 1 iLok License.

I didn’t actually wind up buying it. Did not need it really, cost more than an impulse buy, never got promised $5 discount either. All of that added up to a pass.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Tue Jun 10, 2025 2:08 pmI had a nasty crash with that in Reaper/Windows 10 after like 2 minutes with it and gave up pretty quickly. No problems with it here tho…

I really wish Izotope and NI would just get their crap together and properly merge.
This whole: well we're all NI with Native Access, but Izotope does their thing, and then does their own thing differently again for Exponential Audio plugins they acquired, and that's all different than NI, but we're just one big happy partnership thing, gets on my nerves.
If you're going to consolidate to gain efficiencies, then do it properly. Don't half-ass it.
Ditch iLok for the Exponential stuff, let me authorize multiple machines, and authorize everything through Native Access. Put it all in one account/one place. Bring pricing an upgrade pricing in-line between the companies. As they say on Letterkenny: figure it out!

The best reverb of all times is 480. It can be subtle "instruments placement tool" or it can be very "sound fx" including that gated reverbs. For some reason that old machines, created by physicists and scientists are still the best.

As long as you aren't looking for anything that sounds realistic, old reverbs (and emulations of) are pretty good. Or if you're looking for a "retro" sound.andivax wrote: Wed Jun 11, 2025 11:19 am The best reverb of all times is 480. I like the 224, but the rest... meh. I'll take my favorite just about every time over everything else. But, sometimes, a special effect is needed.

Just a reminder for collecting the most interesting, reverberating, washy, shimmering reverbs in this glorious 2026.
