There were many greats, but he was one of the greatest, he had a few equals but no one which I can consider better or more influential.
His 1967 - 1973 period was unbelievable.
So many revolutions and accomplishments for Sly & the family stone, but my favorite one to mention would be that Family Affair was the first ever #1 using a drum machine

His Fresh album is one of the albums I listened to the most, what an inspiration, what a singer, organist, composer, performer, entertainer and band leader.
Whatever he did with Andrew Newmark on Fresh album, he is one of the funkiest drummers ever, he never played like that before or after again. Almost a miracle.

It's great to see all the love for Fresh. I dig so much of his discography but for me that's the one where all the stars aligned. The funk runs so deep.
