Awesome but if the Legend HZ is McDonalds so is a Minimoog since they sound the sameSoftSynthLover99 wrote: Wed Jun 11, 2025 11:04 pmMcDonalds and all fast food restaurants can serve you dinner sure, but would the quality of the food be the same as a 5 star restaurant with only the best ingredients and chefs cooking it?
Software synths are the fast food of synthesizers. Sure they can get the job done, but the overall experience and quality will not be the same as a 5 star gourmet restaurant![]()
It's quite ridiculous to think fast food is equal to a 5 star restaurant using the best ingredients for all of the food they serve. Yet these threads are doing that very thing with software vs hardware. Nobody will stop you from eating McDonalds every day, but don't delude yourself into thinking that your Micky D's happy meal is equal to the very best restaurants in the world.![]()
But with the $5000 MiniMoog it's like going to an expensive restaurant and paying $50 for a Hamburger that is no better than McDonald's
But your analogy is weak because we are not comparing food, and if we were they would have to be the same food to make it work
What you are doing is engaging in the False Analogy Fallacy where you are drawing comparisons between two things that are not sufficiently similar, leading to an invalid inference.
Fallacies like that introduce flaws in the reasoning process, making your argument less convincing and potentially invalid
Fallacies like that can be used to manipulate or deceive others by appearing to be strong arguments while relying on flawed logic and make no mistake your comparison is very flawed logically
So you have claimed that plugins are fast food, awesome based on what? Because the person who calls themselves "soft synth lover" declares that to be true? The person who engages in logical fallacies declares it to be true awesome
As for me the Legend HZ is a 6 Oscillator Minimoog with 12 voices of polyphony. The Minimoog hardware costs $5000 and has 3 Oscillators and has a single voice of polyphony.
If that makes the Legend HZ a Big Mac awesome I will pick the Big Mac every time, McDonalds had 25 Billion USD in revenue last year. I am good with that
McDonald's has 40,000 locations globally, it serves approximately 69 million customers per day so they must be doing something right
but hey if an extremely limited synth is worth $5000 to you and you think it gets the job done awesome, just don't expect anyone to care outside of the other wankers trying to justify the purchase

McDonald’s has better fries than Moog.

They do not sound the same at all. LegendHZ sounds like software trying to achieve that sound, and the Minimoog sounds like the Minimoog. Idk why you have a problem acknowledging that? It doesn't make the software any less useful and is not a dig at software synths. But a Minimoog is $5,000 for a reason and the LegendHZ is $179 for a reason. Have you ever played a real Minimoog in person? It has a bottom end and weight that is unlike anything available in software. And the monophonic design limitation is apart of the design that gives the iconic sound.IvyBirds wrote: Thu Jun 12, 2025 1:12 amAwesome but if the Legend HZ is McDonalds so is a Minimoog since they sound the sameSoftSynthLover99 wrote: Wed Jun 11, 2025 11:04 pmMcDonalds and all fast food restaurants can serve you dinner sure, but would the quality of the food be the same as a 5 star restaurant with only the best ingredients and chefs cooking it?

But sure, no difference between this place voted the best burger in the world and McDonalds! They both have "meat and cheese" so what on earth could be different!!

Awesome so can you show me what a 6 oscillator hardware Minimoog with 12 voices of polyphony sounds likeSoftSynthLover99 wrote: Thu Jun 12, 2025 1:58 am They do not sound the same at all. LegendHZ sounds like software trying to achieve that sound, and the Minimoog sounds like the Minimoog.
That is far more important to me than so called differences you can't hear in a mix or in a PA
And of course the Legend HZ can sound the same as a Minimoog when you strip it's features down to just 3 Oscillators and a single voice of polyphony
But use what you want
But you know this because you love Soft Synths so much it's your user ID

HILARIOUS as that is a chain burger restaurant not a 5 star restaurant which was your original analogySoftSynthLover99 wrote: Thu Jun 12, 2025 1:58 am [

But hilarious how you think Moog is the equivalent to a burger chain that isn't 5 stars and gave people food poisoningSoftSynthLover99 wrote: Wed Jun 11, 2025 11:04 pm

Hundred Burgers in Valencia Spain is not a fast food chain
but of course you would consider a "gourmet burger restaurant" that was voted the #1 best Burger in the world to be equal to McDonalds fast food
Google A.I: No, Hundred Burgers is not considered fast food. While it specializes in burgers, it's more of a high-end, artisanal burger joint that emphasizes quality ingredients and a refined dining experience, rather than a quick and inexpensive meal
So do you see the difference between that and McDonalds? 1 is made to be inexpensive and accessible (like software synths) and the other caters to a more "high end" dining experience (like some higher end hardware synths).

Seriously, you seem to have a very strong opinion on the subject and I see no point in trying to make you change it.
As far as I’m concerned, I’m OK with it, that changes nothing to my world, that’s why I’m just jokin’.
I’m perfectly fine with my soft synths and need no proof that they sound supergood.
But now I want a burger.
