What is a good vst sequencer that is a lot like FL but the piano roll can do more zooming in(unless newer version do it) just want something based less around that stupid step sequencer(whats the point?) ..... actually um.. I'm not wording this they way I'd like to.. lemme get back to you on what I mean, but if you know any hosts I should check out anyways tell me, I gotta go take a shower.

The advantage of eXT is that you can use it from within your host & not feel like you're cheating on your old lady

I use the piano roll in FLStudio ALL THE TIME. I rarely use the step sequencer - in fact, I don't recall using it at all in the last three months. I find the piano roll workflow very usable. The zoom works well for my needs.
I prefer Fruity's piano roll over Sonar 4's, but lately I've been using Sonar more because of other reasons.

My problem with Fruity's piano roll is having to change tools all the time. My problem with eXT's piano roll is that it tries to do everythign without having to change tools which makes the basics a little less easy [but easy enough when you get used to it]. OTOH, [can you see what's coming?] ORION has the best compromise in that there are only two tools, one for drawing and one for selecting, and you can do most things with either.

Damn, I didn't see that coming at all 
edit: Orion is fine piece of software (much better than Reason, IMO), but FLS works fine for me. I do wish the piano roll would zoom more, too.

Not sure what you mean by zooming problems. Keys 1 - 4 on the keyboard do different zooms in the piano roll (4 is zoom to selection, I think.) The zoom widget itself is a bit fiddly and naff though.
As for switching between tools. You never have to click a button or tool if you don't want to. You can left click to place a note, hold ctrl to drag a selection, hold shift to slice a note or groups of notes, hold shift and drag a group of selected notes to duplicate them etc. I don't know how it could be much easier.
I really like Orion's piano roll too. I just wish you hold down a key to drag out a selection instead of having to manually click the icon and then click the pencil when you want to go back again. There are keyboard shortcuts, but you can't use it if you have PC keyboard emulation on.

Thanks for the posts. Im really just looking for what to upgrade to. I don't like a program that has things put there for beginners but basically just get in the way when you wan't to be more efficient. I'm also looking for something like fruity loops but offers different insight on making music. A different sort of interface or features or just the concepts a particular host seems to embrace can make for inspiring new ideas in music. What is Reason like and why do people call it "Fruityloops on acid", what about it makes it superiour to fruityloops?

Superior? No... just different. I don't use either app, and even I can tell that they're just a different way of working.
I'd have a look at Tracktion if it's something "different" or a "different insight" that you're looking for. Very few programs (eXT is one of them, too) have broken with tradition as successfully. The current version is a bit MIDI-limited for some people (not me, but I only do basic stuff), but the next version is due out very soon with completely overhauled MIDI.
