Sometimes all you need is a simple, good-sounding clipping saturation for certain instruments to cut through the mix, no complex stuff. The hyperbolic tangent function (tanh(x)) has often been that go-to mathematical formula for most developers to create sweet-sounding clipping. This is true for the E-ClippingSaturator500.
It comes in handy that REAPER has built-in oversampling, which I recommend for this kind of saturation that has continuous harmonics.
Similar in features to its premium elder plugin, E-AnalogSaturator500, it features:
* Soft Clipping: achieve analog-like clipping with a smooth, musical curve.
* Hard Clipping: introduce raw, aggressive, edgy distortion.
* Stereo/Mid/Side Modes: apply saturation in Stereo, Mid, or Side modes to precisely target where saturation is applied and enhance specific elements of your mix.
* Auto-Link Input and Output Gain: maintain consistent loudness by linking input and output gain, with an inverse relationship to precisely control how much audio level you drive into the plugin.
* Dry/Wet Mix Control: blend your saturated signal with the original dry signal (0-100%) for parallel processing.
* Output Gain (-45dB to +45dB): Sets the final output level of the plugin to compensate for volume changes.
* High-Pass Filter (1 Hz – 20 kHz): Applies adjustable high-pass filter to the wet signal. The filter becomes active only when the frequency is set above 0 Hz.
* Low-Pass Filter (20 Hz – 21 kHz): Applies adjustable low-pass filter to the wet signal. It can be used to simulate the high-frequency roll-off of analog audio equipment. The filter becomes active only when the frequency is set below 21 kHz.
* GUI Filter Status Indicators: Show the active/inactive status of the high-pass and low-pass filters for quick visual reference.
* GUI Bypass Button: A smooth bypass button for toggling the gate effect on or off without audio clicks. Available for automation as “Bypass (Smooth)” in the plugin's parameter list.
* Zipper Noise-Free: advanced interpolation ensures no zipper noise during slider automation and real-time adjustments.
* Light on CPU

Hi, the Saturation sliders now use a logarithmic scale to provide more precise control at lower values — right where the sweet spot lies.

1. Added a smooth bypass button for toggling the effect on or off without audio clicks.

Hi, the hard clipping was outputting at a low volume. This has now been fixed. Sorry for any inconvenience, it's working great now.

Hi, I have updated the plugin.
Changelog:
1. Renamed saturation sliders to "Soft Clipping" and "Hard Clipping" for simplicity.
2. Turned the fixed 1 Hz DC filter into an adjustable high-pass filter ranging from 1 Hz to 20 kHz, so it’s no longer limited to 1 Hz. The filter becomes active only when the frequency is set above 0 Hz.
3. Added an adjustable low-pass filter ranging from 20 Hz to 21 kHz. The filter becomes active only when the frequency is set below 21 kHz.
NB: Both the older and updated versions null 100% in a null test, as the underlying audio processing code remains completely unchanged. However, if you replace the old version with the new one, you will need to reset the new "LPF Frequency" slider because it will load at 20 Hz in older projects. Apart from that, all of your settings will be preserved.
