Thanks for the feedback. The Glue v2 will be a new plugin, and there will be no updates needed to copy and paste, or even load from file v1 presets into v2.

I think what he means is that when you use proq3 in an older project you can load proq4 on the same track, then hit copy in 3 and paste it directly in 4. There is no need to save a preset that you have to load in the newer version.

Post

Is it possible to detect the version of the saved parameters such that V2 can properly adapt them to its new parameter ranges?
Peace, my friends. I'm not seeking arguments here. ;)

Yes, which The Glue already has, so it will make the migration to v2 very quick even if they have different plugin IDs. Automation lanes would have to be copied separately, of course.

Ah, I see, great stuff :)
I wasn't aware of that feature in The Glue. Thanks for clearing it up.
Knowing that, Andys post makes much more sense now :tu:

Each preset has the version in it, and gets automatically updated to as best as possible when loading / pasting into newer versions.

How would people like a move to a "vector" drawn interface instead of 3D rendered skeuomorphic bitmaps for v2? This is an example of what a vector interface would look like, which is from the CF100 SSM2040 resonant filter module I did for VCV Rack:

I wouldn't be opposed. But there's no issue with the current Glue GUI either. I wouldn't do it just to do it but if there are benefits to it, then sure!

For analog emulations, I think a bit of skeuomorphism is a good thing, the CF100 works here because it matches the VCV rack visual language, all of them are vectorized, but would look a bit cheap as a DAW plugin. The knob on the current GUI could use a redesign though, it looks a lot like the Bax EQ plugin knobs from PA and something about this style just feels outdated to me (too 3d?). Also could you up the FPS for the needle?

Vector version looks great!

Vector vote. Yeah. And you can make Vector convincing. Not as a 3d pre-rendered work as a bitmap, but still convincing and nice. Just remember to add a tube image somewhere, and you're set (pun intended)

Vector as always, even though I love bitmaps, they are in the way of zoomin'

The knobs look a bit weird (pseudo brushed stainless steel style?) but otherwise it looks amazing.

Vector is more flexible and looks great!

+1 for vector graphics, how do you make a digital, rusty panel with vectors, though? :hihi:
