Well, now that I’ve had a chance to check it out, I have to say that it’s not just another all-purpose reverb to add to the pile, and not something that I’d put on a bus and send everything to. It’s got a very unique sound and is something I’d use sparingly when I want the reverb to really stand out and be noticed. And, a UVI reverb for $39 is hard to pass up, especially on my birthday, so happy birthday to me!

Like a fine vintage reverb unit, you’ve got more knobs now. But also way more presence. Happy Birthday!cryophonik wrote: Thu Jun 19, 2025 4:40 pm Well, now that I’ve had a chance to check it out, I have to say that it’s not just another all-purpose reverb to add to the pile, and not something that I’d put on a bus and send everything to. What is the maximum amount of decay time? Does anyone know?

The max decay time is proportional to the Size setting. If you have the Size maxed out, the max decay time is 50 seconds. If you have the Size at the minimum, the max decay time is 4 seconds.3lu5iv3 wrote: Thu Jun 19, 2025 11:55 pm What is the maximum amount of decay time? Does anyone know?

50s isn't bad but when free verbs like DReverb and Ambient Reverb 7 can reach 100s, 50s feels a bit low.

Been demoing it tonight by noodling around on some piano and guitar samples through it and it sounds great.

Nope, two chord tracks. Where you really only play two chords. One in the beginning and the second after 100s. In times of AI, expectations are way lower, as long as it‘s cheap.

Idk. Maybe Air has changed in the last few years but I don't trust them. Abandonware is more of a liability than cheap plugins are a boon. Half of the stuff I got from them never got any updates, nor could I get a response from support when I was having an issue.SLiC wrote: Thu Jun 19, 2025 5:38 pm worth comparing with the new Sprite and Ether (Air) you currently get both for under 50 bucks.
I'm not thrilled about this UVI release. Same layout as Sparkverb, nearly identical controls, similar graphic in the center of the UI. Looks like it even has the connect-the-dots preset morphing panel. This whole plugin could be a parameter in a dropdown menu on a Sparkverb 2 upgrade. But by and large, in general I have a lot of appreciation for UVI and I'd go with them way, way before buying anything from Air again, especially with UVI being the more affordable option.

Yeah - I'm telling myself this is possibly the same price it would have been for a Sparkverb 2 - what this means for Sparkverb I guess is that it is a finished product in their eyes
I just hope they add it to Falcon

Lead developer of Bloom (and his colleague from UVI) gave some insight into design decisions, on gearspace forum.Razzia wrote: Sun Jun 22, 2025 9:02 amIdk. Sadly, thread devolved into dick measuring contest by random tools later on but comments by UVI devs are worth reading.

I’m quite surprised that a reputable company like UVI names a plugin "Bloom", given that there is already a plugin with the same name by Oeksound: https://oeksound.com/plugins/bloom
