I'm at work so I can't test this out, but is there a modulator in S2 that you can set up as a sequence that only advances on 'note on' actions?

Still the AU version needs the VST3 plugin installed, otherwise you have a black screen. Lame.

I'm not certain. I think no. Maybe in the clip thing you can control the behavior like that. I can think of some ways to hack something similar with the lfo but each input note would have to be the same length. Or I could have missed something entirely. What are you wanting to modulate in this fashion? There's always ways to use midi to do this kind of thing.cake builder wrote: Fri Jun 20, 2025 3:54 pm I'm at work so I can't test this out, but is there a modulator in S2 that you can set up as a sequence that only advances on 'note on' actions?

I had the thought after playing with the new Spline VST and its 'enablements' function. The XY modulators are cool, but Serum 2 has those, so if I could replicate the enablements sequencer as well, it would save me from buying another VST instrument.Ah_Dziz wrote: Fri Jun 20, 2025 6:15 pmI'm not certain. I don't really know much about Spline. I already had serum 1 and I haven't gotten too deep into v2. The mod system seemed similar enough to v1 for me to give it very little thought. I'm not a big user of sequencers and arps so I haven't dug into those possibilities. It could be in there. Depending on your DAW you could probably do what you want with a midi plugin or a host modulation source though.
Good luck.

I could absolutely set up something in Bitwig, e.g. with the Steps modulator, but it's always nice for workflow to have things built in.

There's no explicit "trigger then advance" setting but you can hack one. At least for monophonic sounds.
Let's say you want LFO 1 on filter 1.
Set LFO to Hz, set the time to 0 and key retrigger to on. Assign that to filter one.
In the Mod matrix modulate LFO1's phase with the "voice index" modulation source.
The voice index is a global setting that cycles through 8 voices and then resets so modulating the phase of the LFO will advance the step to a new position in the LFO when you press a key.
You can also adjust the steps by using one of the curve editors to remap the phase to the lfo.
A more controlled way of doing it would be to set up another LFO in square steps and have that modulate the phase of LFO 1.

I've heard your sounds for Bazille and Massive and they are great. I will have to check out your Serum presets, I'll bet they are amazing.liv wrote: Tue Jun 24, 2025 12:54 pm Composed a video called "Inhabited majesty" with presets exclusively for Serum 2.

The big Serum 2 leap for me is the added second filter option. Brilliant move.

Yeah, it's a great feature. What sort of creative uses are you finding for it?liv wrote: Wed Jun 25, 2025 5:07 pmCool.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Wed Jun 25, 2025 12:13 pmI've heard your sounds for Bazille and Massive and they are great. For the moment, I don't see significant improvements... I tried an old i5 CPU though, so there may be nothing relevant that can be done on such systems... Will check on an i7-7700k laterswilow11 wrote: Tue Jul 01, 2025 3:15 am "Improved performance of Windows builds"
Keen to test this out. Anyone installed the update and have any feedback about it?
