Discovery Pro is a virtual analog synthesizer and sampler featuring 4 layers, 12 oscillators, 16 filter types (including Nord Lead 2 Zero Delay Feedback, Moog Ladder, and Oberheim SEM models), PADSynth re-synthesis, SFZ/WAV/SoundFont support, Nord Lead 2 SysEx import/export, and up to 16x oversampling. Over 5,000 presets across 100 banks.

Sound Engine
High resolution band limited alias free wavetable for smooth, detailed sound across all frequencies. JP-8080 Super 7 SuperSaw algorithm stacks seven sawtooth oscillators for massive leads and pads. Advanced distortion modes with baseline 4x oversampling. SIMD-optimized processing for x86 and Apple ARM.

Filters
16 filter types — Nord Lead 2 modeled Zero Delay Feedback, circuit-accurate Moog Ladder (24dB/12dB), Oberheim SEM Classic and Raw with zero-delay feedback topology, plus LowPass, HighPass, BandPass, BandReject, Formant, and Phaser. Granular filter visibility control with layout presets (Basic, Ladder, SEM, Full).

Polyphony & Unison
128-voice polyphony with Nord Lead 2 modeled unison calibrated for both polyphonic and legato/mono modes. All detune modes from the original hardware.

Sampling & Re-synthesis
WAVE oscillator with SFZ, WAV (16/24-bit), and SoundFont 2 support. PADSynth re-synthesis generates beautifully looped wavetable samples rendered as SFZ — ensembles, choirs, bells, and beyond.

Sequencing
Arpeggiator with Markov chain mode for machine learning-driven pattern evolution. Gate sequencer with retrig and note-off articulation, individual randomization algorithms (Oscillator Shape, Rhythmic, Sample and Hold) for Gate and Mod sequencers. Graphic modulation envelopes with time-synced destinations.

Performance
Adaptive CPU protection with multi-layer dropout prevention. Sample-rate-adaptive oversampling that automatically scales quality to the host sample rate. Idle fast path for near-zero CPU usage when no voices are active. Instant CPU spike detection for emergency oversampling reduction.

Percussion mode with 10 drum kits. Disk mode preset browser. Octave key split. Polyphonic Aftertouch with per-voice pressure routing. Adaptive Filter Slope with note and velocity matrix switching. Previously, when you adjusted envelope settings (attack, decay, sustain, release) during a playing note, the changes wouldn’t apply until you played a new note. The envelope was “locked” to its original settings until it finished.

Now with this update, envelope changes take effect immediately - even while notes are still playing. Adjust the release time mid-note and you’ll hear it instantly, just like on classic Nord synths.

It wasn’t a delay/buffer issue, but rather the envelope generator ignoring real-time parameter changes until the next note trigger. This makes the instrument much more responsive for live performance tweaking.

VA Oscillator Interpolation Engine Upgrade
