Yes, much too young. It was cirrhosis of the liver I think.
I met Nitzer Ebb briefly at a release party for As Is. Doug was very friendly. I also remember feeling the bass frequencies of his voice vibrating in my chest when he spoke.
I especially appreciate their adventurous musical approach. They started with EBM but kept evolving so every later release sounded different.

R.I.P., had seen an interview online from last year or maybe before that, and was worried that he looked really thin in it.
Seen them a couple times in their glory years, absolutely ruled the stage in Miami the first time.
