I agree. Soothe is a more specialized tool. The way it's resonance suppression works and the way it can be tailored how it operates makes it a much more precise and defined thing. It's still to my ears the most transparent suppression tool when used carefully.

I do however think it's awesome to have this ability within Pro-Q4 but I don't think it's the highlight of the new version.

Could this be the earliest Easter Egg for FabFilter's flagship effects plugin?

I noticed it during Twin Peaks Season 2 Episode 11...

ProQ3 was already basically this good but the small added features put it over the finish line for me to finally match the hype (but realistically it's largely because I am only starting to understand how good it is).

I think the "channel strip" feature makes it a 10/10 basically a masterpiece.

actually the dynamic compression is pretty much fine, attack and release controls put it over the edge.
What is this ‘channel strip’ feature? I can find nothing on their website about this, unless you just mean being able to control multiple instances at once?

This Instance List is a game changer. For me it makes Q4 a EPP (every project plugin) because it adds a giant amount of efficiency and more capability to make music sounds better within the context of Pro-Q's other features. Yes there are other plugins that do this, but having this as part of Q4 and so well implemented from a design perspective is a game changer for me in that I am using it on every project because it is seamlessly integrated and very efficient, not to mention pleasing to use. Good visual representations of the music, its beyond a technical tool.

I wish Pro-Q had a possibility to check what is going on in the "infra" area. Voxengo SPAN can extend that visibility down to 0Hz. If I didn't have the SPAN, I wouldn't even know that D16 Drumazon 2 had a big bump in the infra area - 10Hz (causing some plugins like UAD Pulteq to alias as hell).
Ah, and of course, UAD decided not to fix this behavior in their Pulteq. So look for something better, than their take on this EQ.

With how wide the bins are in the lows on their analyzer, you can safely assume that anything going on down there will still have visible residue. You can verify that by feeding in some pure DC. You'll see it even though the analyzer nominally only goes to 10Hz. Of course, you won't be able to see *exactly* what is happening down there. But surely in most cases you're gonna filter it all out anyway?

This.

Plus get TDR Infrasonic as a companion.
