A delay feedback control with counts rather than percentages... does it exist?

Hi,
I am looking for a delay featuring a feedback control with counts rather than percentages.

In other words, I would like to control the number of slap backs by count rather than by proxy with a volume envelope.

Any suggestions?

Any delay with steps.
For example UVI Relayer.
Create the steps and set feedback to 0

Minimal Audio’s Cluster Delay is another one that allows you to control the number of taps, plus a whole lot more. It’s a nice creative effect. Process Audio’s Ripple is another creative delay to check out.

Hi, Thank you.

Those all look nice, but I no longer purchase products with iLok or activation schemes that are online-only.

Are there any delays like this with trust-the-customer activation schemes similar to the activation of Valhalla DSP or Fab-Filter products?

Here's a good one, I think it's limited to 16 taps per delay module or something. It does a lot more than delay, you can even place effects on the feedback loop.

This is an excellent effect that's often under people's radar. I 2nd pekbro's suggestion. :tu:

I may not be understanding the question but Soundtoys Echoboy might do the thing you want. Although the little sequencer window is horrendous to use.

He doesn't want anything with iLok :)

I already have a license for Soundtoys Echoboy, and I also have an iLok.

I am no longer adding anything to a locked system of activation.

As far as I know, Echoboy does feedback in terms of percentage and does not have an option for steps.

Thank you.

This seems like a good option.

Thank you!

Pitched Delay by lkjb? It's old (vst2, 32 bit I think). While fb is % based it has 5 delay taps and I think you can set each tap to one repeat so you can set up 1 to 5 repeats using the 5 taps. Plus you can pitch up/down the repeats. It's free so may be worth checking out.

If you change the delay type to rhythmic (I think its called that, it's with the ping pong/stereo/etc options) it will bring up a little sequencer box thing on the left side of the window. Again, I'm not it's what you want but worth looking into. I find it very hard to use because it's so small. But you can make interesting multi tap delays with it.
