DSS-1 replace the floppy with USB stick - main trick is to set the read i/o speed to the same as floppy because of the way the system reads the file serially... now the entire collection of all known DSS patches are available on the USB stick :-)

fixing the DW-8000 - the thermistor blew out and took a timing cap with it... so pitch drift... finding the thermistor to match was the hardest part as the schematics only showed it as TR-1 LOL... after much research, found a place which sold a compatible one for $20 + $20 shipping (Malaysia). still slight need to tweak the pitch dial about 30 cents, but almost perfect.

lastly a Crumar Stratus... mainly needed cleaning... still, a magnificent bit of quality work they did wrapping up the wiring harness, quality components. funky to play...

Can you give more details, sources? I have a DSS-1 with a bad floppy. I'd like to fix it before I decide to sell/keep. Amazing filter.
