Since it’s almost July, I thought I’d start this:
What you’ve bought or plan to buy this year.
Here’s what I have so far:
BFD 3
XILS - The Eighty
Battery 4
Ircam Solo Instruments 2
Pigments 6
MassiveX
Kontakt 8
Relab QuantX Essentials reverb (I know, it's an effect... but still got it this year)
NI's Session Guitarist - Electric Vintage
Hive 2
Filterscape
Eventide Crushstation (actually this one was a freebie)
Purafied Collection
Softube Model 77

I've been focusing mostly on updates, plus I managed a few deals that filled in some areas of need:
Steinberg
EDIT: Forgot, Wavelab update.
Steinberg
- Spectralayers 11 (holding serial for update to 12, just a few more days)
- Iconica Opus (got an amazing deal for this one)
- Symphony Series Collection (for layering with Iconica + extra articulations; plus, I'm considering some Audiobro libraries, so the NI SSC Strings developed with Audiobro will partially serve as a demo of that workflow)
- Pigments 6
- SQ80 V
- Serum 2 (free upgrade, but still...)
- Max 9
- RNBO
EDIT: Forgot, Wavelab update.

How are you liking the Blofeld plugin? I haven't had time to check it out myself, but the hardware has seemed to get plenty of love over the years, so I was a bit curious how it has translated over into software.IvyBirds wrote: Thu Jun 26, 2025 1:11 am So far

Synthmaster 3, sounds great, tons of good presets!
Invader 2, impulse buy. Was unnecessary. Sounds good though.
Serum2 NOT! Wanted to buy it but it didn't convince me.
Rediscovered Vital instead.
And Synth1 because I listened to some cool vids with great presets for it. 1000s of presets, many really good.
Beat Scholar. Cooool interface for step sequencing drums.

I love it, I have had the desktop hardware version forever. I still do but it's packed away I will probably sell it off at some point as I probably will never use it again because I have the plugin. The plugin really nails the sound of the hardware with the exception of the reverb being different but it's much improvedKBSoundSmith wrote: Thu Jun 26, 2025 1:53 amHow are you liking the Blofeld plugin? It essentially marries really good VA, Wavetables, and samples but in a clean modern sounding instrument
There is also basically a PPG Wave in there also as all of the Wavetables are there and the filter is modeled as well but it's way cleaner and not as grungey as the original early 1980s PPG Wave hardware
I highly recommend it
The Microwave plugin is awesome as well. It has a 1980s grungy digital sound

Well you definitely have your plate full with those; and both pigments and MassiveX are great. I'll have to look more into the solo instruments -- I'll be interested in your thoughts once you've had a chance to explore them more in depth.Examigan wrote: Thu Jun 26, 2025 2:34 pmJust a little, not really in-depth yet. it sounds really good though.KBSoundSmith wrote: Thu Jun 26, 2025 1:56 amHave you had much chance to play with Ircam Solo Instr 2?Examigan wrote: Wed Jun 25, 2025 11:10 pm Since it’s almost July, I thought I’d start this:
