If anyone's interested, there's a discount code from Venus Theory that stacks with the intro price for an extra 10 £/$/Euro off - VT-BLOOM10

Thanks, now it moved into no-brainer territory and my brain shut down for the weekend early today

I can understand why some may feel that UVI should have chosen a different name. But that’s beyond my control, so I’m simply focusing on the sound and functionality.

I’ve been exploring Bloom by UVI in greater depth. It’s still on sale for $55 at the time of this post, and that’s a very fair price for the buttery-smooth sound that it creates. And after hearing it, I can totally understand why they named it Bloom.

I think it works best as a special effect, due to my own style and preference. But the onboard controls make it suitable for any genre, including settings that also make it conducive for rhythmic material. So it’s pretty versatile.

It has such rich and detailed reverb tails. I had a feeling that it would be great for some shoegaze-style guitar washes. And bingo, Bloom definitely fits the bill for all things ambient and cinematic!!

Both electric and acoustic guitar sound gorgeous through this effect. Actually, just about everything that I’ve tried sounds amazing, whether it’s piano, cello, or vocals. For example, I have some ethnic vocals that I put through it at 100% wet.

The reverb tail transformed into this fascinating, evolving atmosphere that I bounced down as audio, so that I wouldn’t lose it. Whatever kind of DSP magic that UVI has running under the hood, it sounds really good to my ears! 8)

50s isn't bad but when free verbs like DReverb and Ambient Reverb 7 can reach 100s, 50s feels a bit low.
I never knew that price should determine the Decay time of a reverb? How someone told all the developers about this?

It's a very complicated formula they also used to determine the Switzerland tariffs.

Switzerland is punished because it sells a lot of gold to the US but Swiss gold is exempt from the tariffs. That's a lot of Marxist economic analysis there, direct from Groucho Marx.

No, it's the other way around - decay time determines the price and, currently, it's an inverse relationship because there's too much decay time sitting around in storage and developers have been desperate to reduce their overstock. It's going to get even more complicated with the impending shortage of attack time as stocks are quickly being depleted, so unless we can find some cheap Chinese attack time knockoffs, expect reverb costs to escalate over the next ten years. However, the quality of the attack time will likely suffer with these cheap imports.

Now if you multiply Bloom's decay time with the Swiss tariff percentage and then divide that by the current discount price of Bloom you end up with the tariff percentage for the European Union if they don't invest the 600 billion $ as stated in that recent agreement. Miraculous!
