That's interesting!! I think he was always the most approachable of all of them.vurt wrote: Fri Jun 27, 2025 8:48 pmhe once called me a "daft c word"
was walking up the stairs in front of him and tripped over.
we did have a few conversations too, but mainly just small talk, nothing interesting.
he was rehearsing at a friend's place for a bit.
How many synths do you need?

The action figure thing kills me, been meaning to collect all of Iron Maiden’s so I can get them
autographed.
I won’t let them write on my guitars, but action figures, that’s another story…

I bought one of those so my potty training daughter could get up on the toilet. I tried it, but honestly I don't have any problem with pooping and it just seemed weird. Great for toddlers, though.audiojunkie wrote: Fri Jun 27, 2025 8:37 pmzerocrossing wrote: Fri Jun 27, 2025 1:56 amUncle E wrote: Fri Jun 27, 2025 1:46 amDude from The Darkness be like: "Hold my beer"zerocrossing wrote: Thu Jun 26, 2025 11:28 pm Now that is true. My studio can get quite warm with all those hardware synths running.
thedarkness.jpgI heard them on the radio after I Believe In A Thing Called Love came out and the lead singer talked like he pooped gilded rainbow sherbet. The interviewer asked if he was worried about a potential sophomore slump and he said something like, "no, it's going to be hits from here on out."
I never heard them on the radio again.
P.S. that wall of cabinets is either Photoshopped for an elaborate prop.

Brilliant reply. Come up with that all by yourself, or did a teacher help?crimsonwarlock wrote: Wed Jun 25, 2025 9:44 ammixyguy2 wrote: Wed Jun 25, 2025 2:42 am ? Again: sample libraries are plugins, for starters, so yes it can load VST and VST3 plugins.![]()

Pot, meet kettle.
This has nothing to do with the topic at hand. PS: I was probably writing code for a living before you were even an idea. You are confused about a core aspect of IT - the difference between executable code and data files.
And again, the pot/kettle thing.Instead of posting more nonsense and making yourself look silly,

No, that would be you.
? And?A sample library is data that other software (like Kontakt) uses to create new data that is doled out in a sequence (well, fancier than that, but you get it).
So is a recipe for chocolate cake, so that's a woefully inadequate definition...but also not the topic at hand, so moving on...A VST is a set of instructions.
Again: and? Having a standalone version has nothing to do with being or not being a plugin. Any library/VI/effects/utilities you use within your DAW is a plugin. It's something you "plug in" to your DAW, hence the term. This isn't hard.Notice how there are no sample libraries that can work as stand alone instruments, but many plugins have stand alone versions.
One more time: since VIs and sample libraries (which are really just more complex or "bundled" VIs) are plugins, yes, not only can it, but that is its reason for existence.Kontakt can not host plugins.
Good grief people. Let me guess, you think "bus" is spelled "buss" too.

If I was in your position, OP, I’d opt for one VA polysynth with character (possibly freeware, like Noisemaker or Tyrell N6) and one “do-it-all” synth (possibly freeware too, like Vital or Surge XT).
Other than a drums plugin of some kind (acoustic or electronic.. or both I guess), and a sampler (e.g., Decent Sampler), that should do it.

Agreed! I love samplers! There aren't very many good ones in hardware form anymore. I sure would love a modernized version of an Akai S6000 or Z8. That would be a dream!!!
