Can you describe the "transformer effects"? I briefly perused your website but couldn't see this information.

Transformer effects change the timbre of the sound with a single click—some create dramatic transformations, while others stay closer to the original. You can watch the video to hear a few examples, and there's also a demo version you can try (linked in the F.A.Q. section).

Cool, may check this out.

Yeah I've seen this being promoted in the last week or so, watched a few things, tried to work out what the morphing stuff does (I'm a sucker for anything with that word) but failed to find anything remotely technical about what it's doing. I assume there's some kind of spectral processing going on (maybe the audio files are prepped like the SoundPaint files, and only exist in deconstructed form; no audio files to speak of, just the algorithms to reconstruct the audio from the files and mangle them) because there is one line on the site page

" Top slider morphs spectral DNA between layers, .."

Looking through the manual all I can find is that same line and some stuff about granulation. Also that audio files can be dropped in, so if there _is_ any analysis of the imported sound going on, that's where it will do it.

It's also possible it's just a granulator and there is nothing spectral/frequency-domain (and potential cross synthesis) about it.

Would you (@roalin) being willing to divulge what's going on in the background of this machine?

Hhhmmm, Looks really interesting.
What would be an alternative?
It's on my Black Friday list with a "?"

That's sort of where I was going when I asked about the "transformer effects". I was hoping for a description of what they do, not what the term actually means. I guess demoing may be the best way to get to the bottom of this.

Here's a simple breakdown of the basics: Transformers, Morph, and Blend are entirely separate effects.
– Transformer presets are designed to radically alter the timbre of a sound.
– Morphing applies spectral blending between the two layers.
– Blend performs a more straightforward volume-based mix of the layers.

The engine analyzes the input audio for multiple purposes—not just to apply effects, but also to create playable multi-samples, even from a single-tone sample.
