The existing version of Rapid works fine for me.
Indeed!

Glad I'm not working for months creating free updates for an unappreciative crowd.

Except it doesn’t work on Mac. Can’t install it with the repeating windows bug.

That's untrue. I run and use Rapid on a Mac here flawlessly with zero issue. In fact, for me it's one of the most solid synth I use, I can't even recall one single crash or issue.

It may not work on your specific machine and setup, but we can't claim "it doesn't work on a Mac" as if it's an absolute truth.

no issues on m1 mac for me.

Nobody would care if the dev wouldn't tease progress. And they would even care less if it wasn't "coincidentally" right before or during sales.
It runs on my machine! Everything else is undefined behavior.

Interesting what are your Mac and system specs. To reiterate it’s installing it that is the problem.

I don't know exactly what the bug is on a Mac. Rapid isn't my most used plugin, but the few times I have run it on my Mac Mini M4 Pro, I haven't noticed anything at least.

Why be surprised??? You should know the Parawave routine now:

Forget about what was promised. There will be some small update just before BF - used to sucker in new idiots to buy the vst. :( :(

Post

I honestly thought that pattern had ended.

Aside from MSEG there will be two new effect slots. One called Nano Cloud.
Check the above post from PARAWAVE.

A bunch of hogwash.

These hoods have delivered nothing. :x

Well there was an update to that that said they had included two (or was it three) new modules (I think of them as effects) that weren't planned for the easter update and was going to spend a bit of extra time testing them.. which is fine.. but 3 months later?
rsp

The release of 1.9 will be postponed for a while. Not for a long time though. Part of the reason is a relatively late addition of three new modules. Optional Smoothing, Combinator and Generator per routing entry. Testing took longer than expected. So the "hopefully easter" was a bit too optimistic with that in mind. Sorry for that. That's the reason why naming concrete dates is always a dare.

There will be no silence after either. 1.9.5 should follow much more quickly than usual. The included features are uncertain at the moment. Just a rough set, so the time it takes is also uncertain. Goal being summer/fall. Some keywords: Quantizer + Arp improvements. So anything note/pitch related is the general theme and motivation.

Other than 8 free version updates and loads of new sounds and patches.

Some of the free upgrades include adding Granular Synthesis, Sample Resynthesis, new oscillator types, loads of new fx (and an FX plugin version), new browser, importer, new resizable HiDPI GUI etc.)

They could (like other developers) easily have charged an upgrade fee for half of what they have delivered for free- but the didn't.

Yet people still complain that the free stuff doesn't come fast enough.. :dog:
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Just lower your expectations, and you will be happier. When Parawave makes an announcement, I assume it's wishful thinking. Never been disappointed.

yes always be happy to get something for free, never criticize if you get something free, especially dont ever doubt hollow announcements and strange acting of a dev/company. they only want to be nice to you, you are a consumer and dont demand something, if you buy it be happy what you get as it is and dont expect something.
