That Phrase Scripting looks incredible ! Time to go back and check Renoise I think.
And MIDI-Out in Redux with VST3

Whoah

I just purchased Redux (I already own Renoise) as having that scripting in a VST, as well as the tracker interface, is perfect.

Now I can sequence basslines in Bitwig with Redux. That is cool!

Bitwig triggering scripted phrases in Redux, that drive Bitwig devices... :hyper:

thats really nice, in ableton (windows) entering notes in the phrase editor with keyboard triggers ableton shortcuts. But its fixable, enabling EnsureKeyMessagesForPlugins in Options.txt https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/artic ... s-txt-file

Fyi don't skip, sleep on the new factory content made by Xenobaba/Mr Zensphere (doofers, splitter presets etc), some cool usable stuff in it for sure!

That update is really much more than I hoped for.
I only started using Renoise lately and this upped the usefulness for me 10 fold.
I found Tidal Cycles a pain to install and maintain on Windows and also a bit "disconnected" with all the different elements.
Strudel in the browser or in an IDE is also not exactly how I imagine it.

Now this is what I always wanted for my algorithmic stuff.
And Redux with Midi Out and scripting is so much more useful.

Microtuning is also welcome and the UI enhancements etc. are really good.

Well done Renoise/Redux Team! :tu: :tu: :tu:

An update? No way…

What's going on @2:52 in the scripts section of the video? Says you can apply user inputs and it shows an interface rather than coding. The whole scripts idea looks intriguing for quickly making patterns, but the coding is off putting, on the other hand if there's an interface you can use...

Couldn't find anything on it in the manual or on the site.

edit: Looks like maybe the orange "Edit" button in the upper left can be toggled on/off to edit the code and then use the interface? In other words, perhaps it's not strictly reserved for coding. If so, then: :phones: Potentially turns Redux into a nice MIDI FX tool with the new MIDI Out (assuming the new scripts is in Redux as well).
Yo Leroy!

Well, the whole point of scripting is, well, scripts, which are made of code? ;-)

You can put specific parameters into the code which then create those interface elements.
https://renoise.github.io/pattrns/guide/parameters.html
And yes, the edit button shows and hides the code.
And yes again, "pattrns" as they call it are in both Renoise and Redux.

And even on the web:
https://pattrns.renoise.com

Here is the full announcement on the forum:

Good stuff! Makes it far more user friendly than if it were just code.
