Have anyone had any luck getting the legacy plugins to run on newer macs?
Ohm Force’s Ohmicide[S] has been released! 😍

Mine too! I've held off buying all distortion plugins since OhmForce revealed they were working on the OhmBoyz revision...just holding out for the day this would turn up

I've always tried to replace it with other things like izotope Trash or the audio damage multiband distortion, but never been satifised. It's the multi-band compressor too that I love for big time squashing, along with distortion. I could just flip thorugh presets on some loop and find interesting things. I also had predatohm, and while not as useful (particularly because it was mono), it did have a very cool feedback which ohmicide did not have. Would love to see the new ohmicide have the predatohm feedback.

I didn't get the email, but then, sometime back my access to my Ohm Force account disappeared. I assumed they just quit dealing with software and were perusing their Eurorack modules. Never been happy with Trash 2 for distortion, but now I get by with RC-20 and a combo of FabFilter Saturn 2 and Pro MB.
All I need to be happy is one more VSTi.

Well, I think it is fair given the amount of work that went into the new version, plus all of the new/added functionality. It is a monster of a soundshaper tool and was an instabuy for me, and would have been that even without the discount.thecontrolcentre wrote: Wed Jul 09, 2025 4:30 pmI'm seeing £70 to upgrade, which seems a bit steep to me.dhruan wrote: Wed Jul 02, 2025 12:38 pm I wonder if there is going to be an upgrade price for current Ohmicide license holders?![]()
I do understand that for a lot of people it is a lot of money, myself included, but... for me the OG version stood unique among distortion plugins, and now it is even better and runs natively on Apple Silicon. I am just giddy about it.

im also happy that finally a new version is out, im curious about A/B tests etc. but no intro price, ony 20% off to upgrade is definitely too steep. you can get a synth vst for that price even. hope for a sale to black friday or something. nothing i need asap. i could wait over 10 years i can wait some more timethecontrolcentre wrote: Wed Jul 09, 2025 4:30 pmI'm seeing £70 to upgrade, which seems a bit steep to me.dhruan wrote: Wed Jul 02, 2025 12:38 pm I wonder if there is going to be an upgrade price for current Ohmicide license holders?![]()

I think I paid about 50 bucks for version 1. Upgrading for 80 seems a bit steep.
Also, are they in it for the long run this time? I was a bit annoyed when they stopped updating their stuff.
They do have the insta-NiN distortions, still. I‘ve really come to appreciate dependability and reliability, though.

OhmForce pricing has always seemed as odd to me as their interfaces. As much as I like Ohmicide, I don't like it enough to pay that much for an upgrade. No big deal. They get to choose their pricing, I get to choose what I buy.
Surely there must be consensus by now...
