In the Phrase Inspector Variations, where there are variations Apply Rhythm/Form/Melody, it is possible to drag not only phrases there, but also generators. I wonder, what is the point of dragging a generator if it is not possible to control this generator after dragging. For example, I dragged the Melody Generator to Apply Melody Variation. In this case, I apply some one generated melody, but I need to generate different melodies and immediately apply them to the Apply Melody variation. That is, the generator simply does not work there after dragging it to the variation.

I think it's time to replace the Simplify Phrase variation with the Phrase Complexity variation, which will have a slider with minus values to simplify the phrase (reduce the number of notes) and plus values to complicate the phrase (increase the number of notes). I don't know how it's possible to complicate the phrase, but it would be great, especially since such a slider is now present in many programs that work with midi notes. Thank you.

Thank you, lulukom, I'll think about how to make a phrase more complex by adding additional notes. You can already add chord notes to a monophonic phrase. Slicing the phrase or notes will create new notes.

At the moment, the only real way of setting a note length is through the "Rhythm Processing", where it can only be set for all notes of the phrase probabilistically, and with strange impact on the handling of rests and gaps between notes. But there is nothing in the Rhythm Lab UI to directly set the length of a note. To my mind, the Length feels like another "top level" per-note adjustment like Weight, Accent and Timing. In this way, the Rhythm Processing length adjustment would just be an override for occasional use of randomness, in the same way that most of the other adjustments there behave.

One possible UI suggestion would be a fourth "bar graph" option. A setting of zero would insert a rest (if that's what the weighting chooses). Any setting above the number of grid spaces before the next note would mean "no gap". The maximum value would be the default.
Hi Brian,

you are absolutely right! I can't believe how I missed this logical step, to have a 'length' bar graph option. I am going to implement this soon, in a beta version. Thank you for your suggestion! :hail:

Yes, I still don't know how to increase the number of notes in IzKeys using the "Amount" wheel.))

The New chord menu needs a reset to default option.

I would like the Add Interval variation to be adjusted. The intervals that the variation adds are not relative to the chords and scales of the master track. Perhaps an option (checkbox) called Add Only Relative Intervals should be added. And perhaps a Number of Intervals fader is needed. Right now the variation simply adds intervals to each note of the chord.

There's a definite bug in Add Interval. I tried the new fix for ordering of track variations, and it did indeed apply them in the order I wanted.

But the Add Interval of a third, gave me a second - not pleasant!

It took me ages to find the new Chords menu. It seems to only appear on a right click on a chord with multiple chords selected. It doesn't appear if there is only one chord selected - that shows the Master Track inspector.

Why?

If I wanted the Master Track inspector, I could right click on the track heading. I would prefer to be able to quickly adjust one or more chords by right-clicking on them.

It appears also for Shift-left-click. I'll change the current behavior so that clicking on a selected chord (when multiple chords are already selected) should not deselect all other chords, but leave the selection intact, just show this menu.

The new menu should appear only for multiple chords. For single chord selection you got all the suggestions as before.

Because of the many chord options, right-clicking cannot show everything, all the possibilities does not fit in the master track inspector. That is why a (toggleable) floating chord menu was introduced many years ago for a simple left-click. I am not able to solve this better UI-wise.
If I fix clicking on multiple selected chords, it will work more logically.
