hi guys,
wondering if i do something wrong or if it is not possible to get a close sound?
I recorded a snare with 100% wet mix for around 2-3 secs and then cut it and imported it in Pro-R2 and normally i read that the sound should come kinda close (of course not 100%) I wanted to get the soun dof the Tracks CSR Hall to finally remove these trash plugins (i just got always problems with each of IKM plugins, another story) but the sound in these 2 examples sound VEEEERY different.

does someone have any idea? thx

Sometimes it seems to be really close, and others it just... doesn't. In my experience at least.
I guess it's either a limitation of the process overall, or perhaps there are some things you need to tweak that I don't understand either.

If you don't need to 'modify' too much, you could maybe look at Accentize Chameleon. There is a trial.
It will also allow you to save an IR of the 'copy' to then import into another reverb and process more.

thanks a lot guys, im checking out Accentize Chameleon and FoG Convolver.
So far the SONSIG REV-A comes pretty close with 2 presets i made!
p.s. i also could replace a lot of Tracks with Fabfilter plugins and adjusted the curves e.g. with EQs, comps etc. hahahha soon i hope im getting rid of this crap plugins!

Accentize Chameleon
wow this thing nailed the REVERB sound GREATLY!!!! the tail sound exactly for my ears the same, sadly it cannot mimic the rest, the delaylike beginning of the reverb/sound is not there. so i will mark on my watchlist for clean reverbs, awesome reverb but no replacement sadly.
Fog Convolver 2
already got it, tested it and it was pretty different loading my IR sample, also missing the blurry/delaylike effect.
but thanks for the suggestions, seems Convolvers are ok for mimicing the reverb sound itself but not the diffusion etc. (im no pro in reverb so i dunno what causes these delay sounds), in Valhalla Vintage Verb i got also some spaces which are a bit delay'ish and playing with the Diffusion can help too but as i said the most close ones are from Relab so far.
also loaded an old project where this shitty CSR Hall plugin (well the sound itself i love but the plugin company is just worse) was and yeah had some new crashes and problems, support didnt report back yet and i found a solution to activate my old plugin versions! so now i try to finally get into each project and replace these shit plugins

yes, cause i didnt get it done 3 years before and had no Reverb which came close it seems. but this time i came close so far with 2 presets i could exchange and match about 90%, LX480 and Sonsiq work well.

Don't forget that chameleon can export an IR which you can use with something else.
Have you tried HOFA IQ Reverb ? Multiple Convolution along with algorithmic and tons of flexibility.

It doesn't - not in traditional sense anyway.
It analyses the IR and approximates the response using its own algorithm.
However, because IR can literally be anything but Pro-R2 algo is limited by constraints of its algorithms.
you should use a sweep for recording a detailed IR.Caine123 wrote: Wed Jul 23, 2025 8:54 am thanks a lot guys, i thought i did something wrong. hmmm ok then i need to look further for a replacement reverb which comes close![]()

1.) Even if it might sound similar a wet reverb tail of a snare isn‘t exactly an IR of the reverb. So you need SW to create this IR
2.) Even when Pro R2 tries to come as close as possible, this doesn‘t work very well each time. You can try to tweak some parameters to get closer
3.) When you have an IR them, each IR-convolver does the job. May sound more static, than the original though.
