I just got this new chopping plugin.
I'm a big fan of grid based chopping and beat shuffling and this hits the mark in many ways.
You drop an audio file into the browser window. Set the start and end points and either let the plugin guess the amount of beats and slices or enter them yourself. You can sync the loop to the project tempo.
The interesting part is the chopping. It uses various different algorithms to chop up loops with many of them having some kind of musical aspect. For example, the "EDM" chop style keeps a prominent four to the floor downbeat feel or Smooth tends to use more consecutive slices.
You can also manually edit slices with sliders and you can copy and paste multiple sliders.
You also can have multiple different chops that can be triggered by midi notes.
There are a few effects like a filter, distortion and eq.
It's a pretty neat chopper all around.

I have both and I still think it's useful.VariKusBrainZ wrote: Tue Jul 29, 2025 10:48 am Nice if you dont have a DAW thats does this natively like Live or Bitwig
I think the selling point is the actual shuffling algorithms. They're all quite musical. They seems a lot more useful than something like Loopmix which can be quite random. Ableton's Buffer shuffler is also a bit hit and miss.
Also being able to trim the sample into a loop from the plugin is great. It's amazing how many beat chopping vsts don't include this. So many breaks or pieces of music need trimming before chopping and that aspect is kind of a PITA even in Live.
With Chop-r you can drop a sample in set the start and end braces hit sync and away you go!
Also building up banks of different chopped sequences is great.
One thing I'd like to see is the ability to tweaks the slices manually while maintaining their position in the sequence.
A lot of breaks, for example have hits that are outside the grid within a measure. This is often desirable but often not. Particularly if the grid line intersects a drum hit and you get a click.

I'm not sure but I don't think so.
I just entered a serial and it authorised the plugin.
But don't quote me on that!

This looks like exactly what I want. Please consider supporting Linux.
We Linux users want to buy stuff like this too.
Vendor‑Dependent Copy Protection: Customers lose. Pirates win.
(Also: I'm Accused of lying about Linux—it boots, runs my pro audio workflow, stays stable, updates--though yearly dismissed as “niche”. Yet I'm the deluded one.)

Yes, it does phone home once a day. But if it doesn't reach home, it will continue to play.
This is, because you can have up to three active machines, and when you need it on another one, you have to deactivate one machine.
It phones home to check, if it wasn't deactivated in the meantime.
Full disclosure: we increment an anonymous counter on each phone call.

Really wish that all devs would be as straightforward and transparent about copy protection.
