Is that the "Massive X Player" update? Is this just a cut down version of the full Massive X? What if we still want to use the full version? I'm holding off updating because I don't understand what the "player" version means in terms of functionality.

Player is an 'extra' page/option, full synth and better browser still there- update immediately...top update!

The update to Massive X adds a "Play" tab to the synth, where you can automate macros, play with an X-Y pad, add modulation/automation shapes, etc. The three tabs are "Play" (simplified), "Edit" (the full synth, as before), and "Browse" (preset browser).

There is also a completely separate "Massive X Player" for those that don't own Massive X. This is a free synth that is only the "Play" tab, meaning you can't edit beyond the macros that it gives you. It also has only 60 presets. If you have Massive X, you don't need to install this (it's not even showing up in my Native Access), but you can install the presets.

Of course, the full functionality is still there. The main point of the update, the new player page is an ADDITION to Massive X. And for those who don't own it, you get Massive X Player for free, which is the new player page and only a few things you can edit.

Calm yourself the f*ck down, I'm asking questions. No need to be a dick about it. When you name an update "<Product> Player" with no real explanation some people might have question or two (for example Kontakt Player is a limited version of the full Kontakt) Let people ask a question about the massive X update on the massive X f*cking thread. I believe the idea is the player will also allow people to purchase and play the Massive X expansions without needing the full version - bit like Kontakt Player does with Kontakt libraries - smart move

I just wish they had addressed the continued compatibility issues with their latest keyboards

They still haven´t managed to expose the synth´s parameters to the DAW. Apart from the macro knobs, literally nothing else is automatable
How is this still a thing in 2025? Every other synth on earth -big or small- gets this right.
At this point, I’m starting to wonder if the Massive X dev team is just a group of highly talented sound designers trapped in the wrong meeting room. How is it that yet another major update rolls out and basic DAW parameter automation is still missing.. It’s like watching a spaceship launch without landing gear.

Good surprise #2: Native Access no longer lists a bunch of random plugins from various third-party brands I had installed like Arturia, u-he, etc.

SINGLE CLICK BROWSING! It's all I've ever asked to change with this one. Relief
