Thank you !
ok: ........Native Instruments/NTK
i can delete that, right ? not causing problems
Thank you !
System / General / Login Items & Extensions. Turn off Native Access there. It links out to /Library/LaunchDaemons/, which is just a plist which calls the NI helper (/Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/). This is what allows everything else to do stuff without password permissions.
Ok, i´ll follow that advice.PAK wrote: Wed Jul 30, 2025 8:37 pmSystem / General / Login Items & Extensions. Turn off Native Access there. NTK Daemon is kept inside Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/NTK, in the NTKDaemon.app. Would recommend you just rename, rather than delete, the app. Then you can rename it back if need be.
one can only hope...osiris wrote: Wed Jul 30, 2025 9:06 pm Hmm.
I just had the worst deja vu.
Big company makes a great synth. Then puts out a Player version hoping it will boost sales of expensive soundbanks. Months later that company got bought by Apple.
Or rather “hope not”fisherKing wrote: Wed Jul 30, 2025 9:21 pmone can only hope...osiris wrote: Wed Jul 30, 2025 9:06 pm Hmm.

Quite a few months later. Alchemy Player was released in 2010. Apple bought Camel in 2015.osiris wrote: Wed Jul 30, 2025 9:06 pm Hmm.

really, this is pointless. we could also worry about: a developer folding and no one buys it's assets. or NI does. or plugin boutique. zzzzzzzzz...................osiris wrote: Wed Jul 30, 2025 9:06 pm Hmm.

Yeah, it's not spyware though. It does however seem unnecessary- at least disabling it doesn't seem to have any major impact.Teksonik wrote: Wed Jul 30, 2025 7:04 pm Okay I just did the update...meh. Nothing in there for me.
It required Native Access to be updated and that brought their NTKDaemon.exe spyware back:.
The Player page is just a simplified interface with a row of macro knobs and a big X-Y pad. It's very similar to Arturia's Analog Lab, only where AL gives you access to every sound engine in their V Collection, the Player page only gives you access to Massive X patches. i.e. It is the full Massive X synth engine with a limited interface that only let's you tweak a handful of parameters. But if you own the full version, you can still access the main panel, just like always.seangm wrote: Tue Jul 29, 2025 2:29 pmOk, but is the full functionality of the synth still available after the update? What is the "Player Page""? So many questions and no info I can find from NI on the update. To me "Massive X Player" sounds like it's a "lite" version of the synth? Or am I missing something?
