Unique wavetable mangling capabilities that produce as little aliasing as humanely possible. The best distortion and reverb effects in a synth plugin ever. Generally you can push things further than in practically any other synth without the sound falling apart.

Some people have also said "it sounds like hardware", which might mean nothing for some people, for others it's the highest praise possible.
Right, I am actually a big fan of the Oscillators myself. Serum 2 sounds like a hardware workstation. See my latest Serum 2 pack - Nova Explosion. It's got brass, pianos, strings, loads of stuff MX can't even get close to. Keyboard splits anyone?

I think Massive X is hugely characterful. In fact, it's always got this certain sound about it.

All of what you say may be true, but it's still got only 3 effect slots. 3 slots to modulate the filter. These limitations, from a sound designers view, are Massive limitations for sound design.

Although we've been discussing this for 5 years now. I see this new update today and got very excited. Then I see this player thing! lol. :dog:

Still, I am working on new presets for Massive X. I thought they might be available in the new player, now to find out they won't be.... another kick in the balls to us serious sound designers. And remember, we all paid money for this product and was told updates were coming. This I feel is my a few of us are still frustrated by it.

And still the synth surprises me every time. :D lol

Maybe.

Massive x is just too much fun despite its flaws and shortcomings. IDGAF about the preset browser. More fx slots plz^^ I m not buying/selling my/your awesome presets.
Love the interface and dont want it simplified/dumbed down.
Its not super complex either.
RTFM x 1000, activate gorilla mode and go bananas.

You can use the keytrackers to do keyboard splits, at least.

True, it's a "workaround", but complex to set up. Far more complex that Serum, for example. That's the whole point of my frustration with MX. It's just far more complicated than needs be. However, I do like the synth a lot. Hoping for some proper updates this decade though. :D

Well i guess it probably randomises a buch of settings, hence you lose your work?

It acts like a play button that immediately starts modulating multiple parameters. If you've not saved the preset already then kiss it goodbye unless you can remember exactly what all the settings were, as there's no undo.

After a while away from NI software I gave the new update a spin. The new play mode is nice, I suppose. But it reminded me how ridiculously good this synth sounds. Easily the best sounding synth I own, it’s not even close.

Therefore I’ve concluded that NI should really go for it this time. Just do it. Release the most super super synth of them all. Show us what you got, we know you can do it. No more fooling around, it’s time to deliver. MX2 Deluxe. Do it. Do iiiiittt.

They should make a hardware controller for the synth, similar to what machine achieves in hardware/software integration.

And what I mean is not that KK controllers with just 8 knobs, I would like a controller with the full synth interface- 70 or more knobs/sliders.

I agree....Massive X is the most wonderful sounding soft synth I have ever heard...

A serious powerhouse that is packed with the best DSP that NI has to offer...

And they've been doing the music/DSP shuffle for quite a while now...

But what astounds me,is just how funked up the delivery of their flagship synth has been...

They deserve all of the credit due for such a fantastic sounding synth....

Absolutely brilliant...

But they should hang their heads in shame for the abysmal way that they have brought this creation into the world...

A lot of the "teething problems" could have easily been alleviated by genuinely listening to their customer base...

Let's hope that they have been learning these lessons and we can all embrace and move fowards with a greater sense of understanding
No auto tune...

That’s right. You heard us, NI.

a.) All is forgiven.

b.) We want you to DO IT ALL. A knob for each and every one of these unlimited oscillators and filters and effects and modulators you’ll give us included. Thanks.
