Yes, there's a demo version available, and I definitely recommend trying it out before making a purchase.
You can find the "Download demo" buttons on the homepage:

There's also a comparison chart between the Light and Full editions here:

After installing and launching RapidComposer, you'll be able to choose whether to demo the Light or Full edition on the first screen.
Upgrading to the Full Edition is possible by simply paying the price difference.
