Heya peeps 8D
I have recently got Mackie MR624 monitors,
and they seem quiet compared to prior models.
The volume pot is all the way up,
which is marked as normal.

My Eris Studio 4 s are only just above min.
on my other computer

I think this may not be cause for concern,
because both Mackie monitors are the same volume

What do you think of this?
They are loud enough to use,
so just don't worry about it?
I used to have Mackie MR8 and Samson r6a
coming out of this Presonus 1824 soundcard,
and iirc they were loud with their trim pots just on

I have just recently learnt I should be using balanced cables, so I am now.
The mr624 have always been connected balanced

I'm asking if something seems amiss here with the volume
The mr624 are only warm to touch
I wonder what I want in here
-my site is gone and music a mess

Your Mackie MR624 are rated at 105 dB SPL @ 1m, and expects a "pro" input level of +4 dBu.
The Eris Studio 4 is rated at 100 dB SPL (peak) @ 1m. Possibly this is designed for consumer level of -10 dBv.

The difference could be the type of pot meter used for volume. What I hate at most amps, is that when the pot is set to 1/10 then the volume seems to be at 50% already of the max. capacity of the amp.

Then stop worrying.
