Yes it's great. I just don't have a hundred quid to spare for a 909. TBH I would prefer to use a vst than piss about with drum samples. In comparison with sample libraries, d16 offers flexibility and tons of effects and presets.ghostwhistler wrote: Fri Aug 08, 2025 6:28 amThanks. I checked it out. It only does 909?andivax wrote: Thu Aug 07, 2025 11:57 am Eat Static is the typical 90's techno/trance project.
That "Implant" track is basically Roland 909 + samples + heavily processed 303 + any analogue or VA synth.
For 2025 I would recommend d16 Drumazon 2 (909)
Sounds nice, but not sure I want to pay a hundred quid for just a 909 vst.
It's amazing sounding timesaver.

Sure. Drum samples were never the issue. Just was curious how music like this got made given the amount of ear candy and one shot fx that gets used. Makes sense to sample such things. But for me I want to be able to get music out as quick as possible, so having to spend time making up a library of bleeps and bloops was counter intuitive.
These production styles are unfamiliar to me. I generally write by playing a riff or e melody and building from that. Very old school I suppose

Technically you don't need a vsti to make a great track.Yes it's great. I just don't have a hundred quid to spare for a 909. TBH I would prefer to use a vst than piss about with drum samples. Programming kits is a giant ballache
Old school guys often use samplers so we can also.
However when you try d16 AND it's presets you will understand why I am d16 fanboy )))
It's not only about speed up the process but about the inspiration and creativity.
Another level!
